Rear wipers wipe by themselves?

Whenever I use my front wipers and then turn the car off (sometimes with the wipers still in the on position). once I start it back up and turn the fronts back on or do a mist wipe, the rear wipers start to wipe too. doesn't happen all the time but does happen quite a bit. if I turn the knob to do a rear wiper wash and turn it back to the off position it stays off. Is this a relay or computer problem?

Also, my front wipers intermittent settings, even in the longest delay seem to be pretty fast and once in a while will do 2 consecutive wipes. My 03 accord does this too much later in its life.

If your wipers are on, then you go to reverse, the rear wiper will wipe to clear the glass. Just as if you are stopped, with wipers on interm., if you go in the middle of a cycle the wipers will wipe to clear your view. I believe that is how it works. Maybe someone can clarify this.

ahh, that explains the rear wiper activating then. but still doesn't explain why the front wipers double wipe sometimes in intermittent mode.

The front wipers will wipe if you are in drive and step off of the brake pedal, regardless of the intermittant interval setting. Another cool feature.

Yeah as a new owner, I wondered the same thing. Thanks for clearing that up for me as well.
