rear wiper replacement

someone snapped off my rear wiper.
anyone ever replace one?
i ordered the parts.arm and wiper blade.
i have a question.

i removed top nut,but below it was another metal nut.
the same one that comes encased in the replacement arm.
the one in the replacement arm is not removeable,so the one that broke off from the old arm needs to be removed.

i tried turning it both left and right ,no movement at all.didnt want to force and maybe break rear glass.
then i noticed the new metal part in the new arm is not even threaded.
what holds it on and how do i remove it?

You should not have to remove the second nut to replace the wiper arm.

There should be a bushing that rides under the wiper arm, but on top of the second nut. Did you get this bushing off with the old wiper arm? The unthreaded metal piece you describe on the new wiper arm should be the new bushing. It used to be a separate part, unless they have started welding them together.

Put the new bushing on top of the second nut, then the arm (or as a unit, if they are welded) and snug it down.

its not a seperate part.
it comes from factory installed in arm,and it doesnt look like to can be removed, its pressure fitted.
the old nut has to be removed t give me the clearance to put the new arm on and then the top bolt.

Hmmm, maybe double check the part number. Ask a dealer if there has been a change to the design.
