Rear Main Seal Leak

Upon a pre-inspection for my 07 RDX it was noted that a very small leak around the rear main seal was forming. The recommendation was to repair in min. 2months. The car was under warranty so the Acura dealership covered the repair. Went home and found the car was now a slow drip vs. the previous slight leak. Took back to dealership and they supposedly repaired it again. Took the car home and what do you suspect? That's right, car leaking oil...AGAIN! Took it back today. Haven't heard back yet, but any thoughts on whether 3 times is a charm or if they are overlooking something else very important. I know very little about cars...especially Acura's (this is my first) so I would appreciate any suggestions to take back to the dealership.

they might just be messy workers. could be residual spilled oil dripping from parts. Keep an eye on it and see if it continues at the same "rate".

Rear Main Seal Follow up

So, a rear main seal leak on an RDX is rare...dealer called it a fluke. After 2 attempts to repair they finally figured out that the sensor that reads the transmission switching into 2nd gear has a valve and for some reason it was leaking. (I probably didn't explain that fully accurate, but it is something to that effect.) So far so good-no leak. Guess 3rd time is a charm.

However, when I picked up the car and it was making a rattling/squeaking noise near the left strut. Took the car back and they discovered another "fluke". A nut/bolt was loose on the strut shaft (?) which is another rarity.

Dealer said sometimes a couple of weird things will go wrong but after that anything strange--like the two situations above--would most likely be recall issues. Not sure he was trying to make me feel better, but he said I should be in the clear except for typical maintenance issues. Crossing my fingers!
