RDX Serpentine Belt replacement issues
Hey guys,
I've been a long time honda/acura owner - used to be a Honda tech years back and I just want to say the RDX is by far the hardest vehicle to find sh*t for. Acurazine is probably the only place to find any info. But in my searches I haven't found jack on a serp belt replacement. If there is, please post a link and I'll be on my way-I know the drill.
That being said - I have an '07 RDX with 130k and she's been having a vibration/chatter at idle, worse with A/C on. So my first purchase was a belt tentioner kit - found a good deal on Amazon. Once the tensioner was replaced, I started to swap the belt... no bones, belt was SEVERAL inches too long. Advance had a Carquest belt and it was also too long when compared with the old one and O'Riley had a Gates but still too damn long.
Short story long... Do I really have to buy one from the Acura Stealership?
Thanks guys

I would always check the OEM parts websites - they usually have very good pricing (below dealership walk-in). These sites are usually run by dealerships as well, so it's as if you were shopping there anyway, just saving money. For instance, said OEM belt is only $35 from the site above. I also have no idea why it's listed as a power steering pump belt - I only see one belt when I stick my head down there. But maybe double check before you buy.

Was it the 5070683 part number from Advance/CarQuest? I put their "Carquest by Dayco Poly Rib belt" on a couple weeks ago and it was the same length as the original belt I took off. It was enough of a pain in the butt to put on that I'm guessing it wasn't too long. :/

I'll have to check that part number. I think all they had was the drive works brand, which is horrible in my opinion. Thanks, I'll check that one out before I order an OE

Don't use Dayco belts they suck balls. If you havn't already heard.
Use original gates belt. I'll find the part number for you if you need it but do you know roughly what the part number was on the old belt?
Here's part number for Bando & Continental.
Bando - 7PK1732
Continental Kit (Comes with tensioner and belt) - ADK0044P

Did you end up replacing the belt and did it solve your problem? I may have the same issue, which I've been trying to chase down unsuccessfully. Would be awesome if this ended up fixing the vibration.
