Power mirrors going nuts when a memory button pushed
Power mirrors going nuts when a memory button pushed
Hello I have this problem with my 08 RDX with Tech package. The memory seat works fine but the motors that drive the mirror adjustments move the mirrors so far that it hitting limits so the mirror is way out of whack and just pulsing at the . Has anyone had this issue? I tried searching and did hear about actuators but both mirrors are affected. Any ideas to reset the mechanism maybe? Thanks in advance! -Nick

It makes more sense it is a lubrication problem compared to both mirror motors going bad at the same time. You might have to take both mirrors apart and re-lube?

My passenger side view mirror tilts down when I shift into reverse as it should. But when I move back to drive, it tilts down even further, rather than returning to original position. Other times it barely moves at all. Adjusting tilt & angle with the toggle switch works just fine though. ???
I'm hesitant to take it apart to lube it w/o hearing from somebody who has done this successfully on the RDX. Hate to be the crash-test dummy.

I have had a problem with my side mirrors since purchasing an 08 RDX. My driver side mirror will be replaced completely due to the puddy holding it on ATM. The passenger side was doing as described. It would adjust and tilt down but when going back, it would move to a different location.
I have recently replaced my passenger side actuater and found that replacing the actuator is easy. It's gluing the mirror back on that is difficult. It is only held on with an adhesive that I cannot find. I have tried 3m adhesive with 3m double sided tape. It's currently holding on.
To replace, you need a flat head and must pry the mirror off the actuator. Then unscrew the actuator. There are two plugs behind the actuator. The mirror has wires attached for the heat function so be careful not to pull the mirror too hard. If you are facing the mirror, the wires are located at the top left behind the mirror.
If anyone has found an adhesive similar to factory, it would be appreciated.

Did replacing the actuator on the passenger side fix the problem of the mirror going to the wrong location?
I'm sorry I never clarified. The problem is fixed and the passenger mirror works as it should. Although I find the tilt function a waste since we don't parallel park in my area. I just dont use it unless I forget to leave the switch on the right side.
