NOISE in rear
I did a search and found a couple people have the same problem i had. I had a creak noise coming from the rear seat behind the passenger seat. I isolated it and it was the seat back. If i had the seat back down there was no creak. I took it to the dealer and had the tech ride with me and he found the bolts that hold the seat back were not tight . He tightened the bolts and the noise is gone.

Thanks for the note. I have also been hearing a very obnoxious noise coming from my back seat as well. In my case it's on the drivers side. I took a look at all the bolts I could find and haven't found anything to be loose. Guess I'll have to bring it up at my next service.

I also have a rattle in the rear..sounds like someone jingling keys. Seems to be from the passenger side rear near the seatbelt area. They tried once but failed to isolate it. So I am taking it back again. I will ask if people have reported it a lot.

The noise came back. I pulled out the back passenger seat ( back part ). The seat has a little metal tab that aligns up the holes. Thats metal + metal = noise. I put down clear 3m tape around each hole that the plastic snaps go in and put a little grease on the threads the seat attatches to an the NOISE is gone. I did this the day after the dealer fixed it and the noise hasnt returned. The raised carpet piece behind the seat is easy to remove just hit it up and the plastic plugs will pop out then you can get to the bolts that hold the seat back in place.

Take out the spare tire cover. The piece that is in front of the spare tire cover is held in by 4 or 5 little plastic plugs. The piece is actually hinged plastic. Rotate the piece forward then just grab a hold of it and pull up. Be CAREFUL !!This piece hides the bolts that hold the seat backs. Take out the seats and put down some kind of barrier between the hole and the seat bracket. The seat back bracket has a little metal nub that fits into the hole in the body for alignment. Thats where I believe the noise was coming from. Put a little grease on the threads and tighten the seat backs down and the noise should be gone. I also put a plastic barrier between each of the plastic plug holes. I hate noises.

Well got may car back and the issue was with the rear seatbelt system. They tightened some bolts and re-threaded the seatbelt through the tensioner and it is gone. Time will tell if it is fixed for good.

Thanks Motegi 2007 for the details. I'll take a look into when time permits. Also, Buxtons, that's interesting news about rear seatbelt system. I guess I will have to try one thing first and if that doesn't work I'll investigate other possiblities. If all else fails I guess I'll just have to bring it to the dealer.
