My key fob was rattling like mad during the 4hrs drive on the I5 over the weekend. I started noticing it after I removed everything from my key chain. The rattling is from the silver key chain hook on the fob. It drove me nuts I had to put tape on it to get it to stop rattling on the way back. I think the only fix is to open it up and tightened the screws mount inside? Has anyone done it?

I took a closer look at the key fob last night and noticed the crappy build quality. Everything was loosely fitted. You can pretty much shake the fob and hear all sort of sound/noise - these were the rattlings I heard.

 

I think the key/fob/ignition design is not all that great. There is just way too much weight on that fob when you have other keeps attached to it.

Should have been like beemer/vw/audi just put the entire fob into the ignition. Nope acura is too cheap.

 

I don't understand why the whole thing is so big. It's almost twice the size and twice as heavy as my Audi key.
