Intermittent Check Gas Cap P0455 and P0456
Intermittent Check Gas Cap P0455 and P0456
2007 Acura RDX 179k.
Once every couple months, I’ll get a check gas cap error. It goes away, without any action on my part, after I subsequently start the car couple times.
When I run blue driver, I get p0455 and p0456 codes for a large evap leak and a very small evap leak. After I clear those codes, the codes don’t come back for another couple months. Also, the blue driver will say that evap system test has run and that the car has passed it. I recently passed the emissions test for my state and the mpg remains unaffected. There is no noticeable issue when idling or accelerating.
I have replaced the gas cap, but it’s an auto zone part so I’m thinking about buying an oem. Also, I replaced the air intake hose(oem), because it had a huge tear through it. Even after these changes, the check gas cap error comes back.
Any thoughts or suggestions on this issue?
