Check gas cap message

I know... sounds retarded, but I was getting purge vap valve check engine code so I replaced that and the engine light never came back on so a few weeks after I started getting check gas cap message so I bought a new gas cap and it went away for almost 2 weeks and now it's back! And it's not bc I'm not screwing it on enough. Help please

Do a search ... Its not the gas cap but it is a simple $80 fix and 5 min.

Yeah he said in the first sentence that he already did that fix.

OP, I wonder if the part you replaced is bad? That's typically the culprit with that message.

Maybe you have a hole in your fuel filler neck?

So you already replaced the purge valve? That is usually the culprit.

She* hehe
How would I know if it's a bad part? Buy another and see if it fixes the problem? Yeah I have no idea, I'm trying not to take it to acura, my brother is a mechanic for Lexus and he did the fix but if nothing else I guess I'll take it to the dealership. Thank you

Yep that's the first thing I replaced with the check engine light now it's not the engine light on it's coming up on the little screen on the bottom right.

Interesting. Normally the valve needs replaced when the gas cap light comes on, not the check engine light. If you had the CEL come on first I would think that indicates something more is wrong than just the valve (or instead of the valve). More investigation is needed, but not sure what advice to offer other than getting someone qualified to check it out.

So I have the same problem. I already replaced the gas cap and PCV and the tighten gas cap light still comes on. I'm going to try replacing the fuel filler neck next. Anybody know the part number for the fuel filler neck ans how hard is it to replace.

Thanks
