Interior Lights not Working - Odd Issue

Hey guys. New here, because I'm desperate and can't seem to narrow down the problem, so forgive me if I ask more questions, that provide solutions to everyone else's.

Problem: overhead lights, map lights, center lights for dvd system, none of them work. Also, home link doesn't work or even light up. the only lights that do work are the ones in the door. None work when you open the door or manually turn on the switches.

Attempted or checked: all the fuses, including in the engine bay and underneath near the foot well, opened the overhead console/map light area to check the wiring harness which look fine to me. Moon roof does in fact work, and I'm afraid to open it in case there's a short or something connected to my overhead lights. Also toggled the door sensors pushing them in and out hoping to activate one of the lights.

Can anyone provide some expert insight on the cause, problem and solution? If one of the bulbs blew out, would that affect all of them? Like I said, I'm getting desperate and it's hard to find things in the night like when I have my kid in the car with me.

Oh sorry, I own a 2007 RDX Tech, with everything stock. No upgrades, no LEDs, etc. Thank you in advance!

Is the instrumental panel brightness control turned all the way down? if you don't know what that is buy an owner manual, or visit the dealer.

Did you purchase this vehicle new or used? did the lights ever work? did something change? you must provide more info for someone to guess the problem.

Thanks for the reply. RDX was purchased certified used in 2010 and the lights have always worked. I honestly don't know what the problem is, like a relay or something?

Yes, I have the manual but it doesn't include anything of this sort of troubleshooting, just basic things. Also, the panel brightness works fine. The only thing I noticed was when my cousin sort of accidentally slammed the passenger door closed and later that day I noticed the interior lights just died, all except the ones that are in the door panels.

thanks again for your time.

The only thing i could think of is the small lights fuse, I know you said you checked all the fuses already but you can double check that one because same thing happened to me. I had a short and that fuse will blow and affect all my interior light. Hope u find the problem.

Thanks for all the insight guys. So I finally got it repaired. Broke down and brought it to the dealer. Turns out the left roof rail was leaking water down the A Pillar and shorted out to of the main wiring harnesses. Two harnesses was about $980 not including doing the roof rail repair, the water test and rewiring of everything. I explained to the dealer if it was my own fault or normal wear and tear, I could understand but I never even had the roof rack installed. They understood and contacted client services and a bill that actually cost around, $2785, Acura picked up more than half, divided by the dealer and client services. I basically paid for two hours of water testing to find the leak and the harnesses.

I don't know if this is a known problem or a defect but keep this in mind if you have any problems with your interior lights from your courtesy lights to your dashboard because they had to rewire everything from what I understand. It would've been great if they covered everything but I'm glad they picked up most of the bill under their "brand enthusiasm," basically the reputation of Acura.

Like how? and where? is the rail bolted or screwed down? was there some seal that did not?

Just trying to understand how the leak occurred - and what did the repair of the rail/ roof/ pillar involve? welding? replacement of some seal? very curious I am.

From what they explained and how I understood it, water was leaking through the left roof rail down the A Pillar and settling down by the interior fuse box and the driver side kick panel. They said to repair it required re-sealing it, I guess with silicone or something, then waiting for it to cure to perform additional water leak tests. Once that was good, two harnesses had to be replaced, a c210 connector and some other harness but it required removing parts of the dash and liners along the doors and driver and passenger kick panels. They said the water shorted out a bunch of things and the exiting wires and harnesses were corroded. Keep on mind I don't have the roof rack, just the rails that come standard. M

I have the exact same problem with my 07 Rdx. Do you have the part numbers for what was changed?
