heating and cooling problems

2007 tech,
heater core went out about a month ago, was leaking for a week or two before my significant other realized the smell wasnt from her slob habits
dealer wants 1700 to replace. i realize the part is about 60bux but you need to remove the dash/console prob the seats. Seems like a good winter vacation project. temporarily i just bypassed it under the hood, dont really need the heater down here but i would like it fixed at some point. Does anyone have an exploded diagram of where all the fasteners ago?

and now just a few days ago i got more loud noises under the hood, thought it was just the tensioner- unfortunately dealer and indy mechanic has told me other wise, compressor going bad. still blows cold but makes a racket whether ac is on or off. another $1500 job for the dealer, independent mechanic is still going to charge me about 900 to replace it along with filter/valve and whatever else is supposed to be replaced. i really dont have any way to evac and recharge system or i would do this myself

If you bough your car from acura as a cpo both things should be covered under warranty
I would call acura customer relations and find out for sure

I may have to, looking at Acura | Certified Pre-Owned Benefits | Acura.com
It looks like I should have a 12/12000 non powertrain warranty

Based on what he posted and where he posted, it looks to be a 2007 RDX with Tech.

yup sorry, 2007 rdx tech, a little over 75k miles.

also throughout reading i guess there's a valve for the heater core that can nearly cut off all coolant into the core and should be cycled often to keep the heater core from essentially going dry/corrosion develops and compromises the construction
