My 08 with 6200 miles just started to rattle some place in the sunroof are. I tried holding the cover to see if this was the cause, but it did not help. I read a few threads on this but I can not find any thing saying what the cause was except that is could be the cables in the sunroof. Has anyone had this issue and found out the cause? Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

o boy. my 07 went back as a lemon because of the sunroof, right around your exact mileage.

when you hit bumps, not even big bumps, but generall uneveness in the road, does it sound like there is a bag of nickels up there? is it above your (driver's side) head? does it happen if the sunroof is open, no matter 2 inches or all the way? Does it make noise when its closed?

long story short, the dealer tried to fix, an engineer from ohio flew out to look at it (mine was one of the first problems reported for the roof, for the vehicle itself) they couldnt figure it out, replaced the entire roof assembly after the engineer came out, and it was 5x's worse. new car.

honestly, dont think you will find much on what exactly IS the cause, in this case, i dont think the cause matters as much as if they can fix it or not. if they cant find a cause, they dont know what to fix, thus u see where you may be headed.

my 07 was flatbeaded back to the factory.

Thanks for the information. Next service I will have them look at it and see what they can do. It is great to know that your did get to use the lemon law so I know it can and has been done if they can not fix the rattle.

Yep, my 08 has it. More of a creak when it is open or closed with the sun shade open. Going in for oil change today, but at some point will log that complaint and see where it goes.

one thing to keep in mind, when you do the auto open and it opens all the way, check your sunshade...it doesnt go back all the way. There is about 1 inch + left hanging out, i thought i had the sunroof rattle again, but when i realized the shade was never all the way back, it took the shake out of it.

INteresting on the roof...you would think there isnt much up there and would be easier to fix. Someone left some tools in there when they built it.

DARMC96, please let us know what they tell you after you take it in. I am going to have the dealer check mine out but it will be awhile before I have my next service, and the dealer is out of my so I do not really want to make a special trip. But if I really can't take any longer I sure will get there.

I took mine back to the dealer when i was doing my first oil change and of course they couldn't 'hear' the problem when they took it for a test drive....

stick them in the car and drive em around till it happens if u want them to address it
