GPS, Audio, and sometimes Ignition cuts out.
Hello All,
I have searched a bit and have not found anything specific to my issue.
2007 RDX tech pkg. 64K.
When driving for about 20 minutes and at a stop (Foot on the brake and car in drive) the audio and GPS studders and restarts. Sometimes the car itself will stall.
I have replaced the battery and tripple checked the terminals, made sure they were clean.
The local Acura dealer did update the software for a faulty brake voltage but after about 3 months back to the same old.
The local Acura dealer can not find anything wrong and no codes?
Any ideas.. this is really frusterating..

Heat related issue could be a number of things. Too bad it won't throw a code. It sounds electrical in nature, but without knowing other tests results, such as fuel pressure under the hood or if the fuel filter was changed, it is impossible to diagnose your issue on-line.
Changes in temperature can make electrical connectors expand away from contacts and break the path of the electrical flow. So it might be worth examining the air flow sensor on your engine. It is in a vulnerable place on top of the intake just inches away from the hood. You could try running the engine for a while and tapping the meter/sensor... You might also try the connections on the ECU. Heat and vibrations can induce sensor fail, also check TPS IAC IAT MAF BOV CPS (sometimes 1,2 or 3) Cam Sensor(s) O2S, just as the normal operational car vibrations and a build up of heat will do, making the engine stall out. If the engine stutters during your test... you may have isolated the problem.
EDiT: However, I have a hard time believeing that the dealer didn't look for these issues. Good luck.

Thanks for your response Mr Marco.
Yes the local Acura dealer seems to treat us like we are imagining things.. They can not replicate it, and like you said no codes.
It defiantly seems like a short or bad connections some where. Almost as if you are turning the car off and on in a fraction of a second.
I think my next step is to just get the car back from them and install a new heavy duty (+) battery terminal. Maybe the cheap factory one is cracked or causing an ark.. ?

...or a bad ground. But the dealer should easily catch this issue. Maybe you should insist on a test ride along, so they drive it longer than just to the corner and back for Taco Bell burritos.
I remember a similar issue with a buddies car that turned out to be a bad battery.

Just and update..
I got the car back and the dealer cleaned up the positive terminal. Like previously stated it has a new battery installed about 3-4 months ago.. so not sure why the terminals are corroding so rapidly. But in any case it has not happened since. So if you experience issues like these.. First check the terminal for any little amounts of corrosion. Looks like I will have to clean mine quarterly.
Thanks again Mr Marco for taking the time to investigate.
