front stut/knock...?

anyone have a problem with the front underbody of their RDX...not sure whats going on, sounds like crashing or knocking, every time the car hits a bump or shifts weight...sounds like a golf ball inside a glass jar..cant tell wtf it is, just know its constant and getting worse over time...itll be going in. coming from the underbody, not sure if its the left mid or right front, can also feel the knock sometimes reverberate in the pedals. audible over soft music. its not a single knock; sounds like something is loose.

* front STRUT

Blown shocks look to see if there is any oil leaking from the shock around the "neck". The other thing is: is the ride bouncy? Are you lowered?

Went to the dealership this past Friday for the same issue. Stabilizer linkage needed to be replaced. The sound has gotten progressively worse over the past month. Get it checked out though.

i was going to say stabilizer bad when I started reading your post. I drove my buddies car last week and it had the same problem. He owns a KIA. Luckily i knew what it was from past experience and replaced it for him the next day. Stabilizer bars take a lot of abuse. Its not only our cars they go bad on.

first car ive owned ever to have this issue. especially at such low miles, and mine was bad. driving it now fixed is like driving a different car all together, never knew how bad it actually was i guess due to the fact that it progressed so slowly over time

When the stabilizer bars & linkage go 'bad', what exactly is wearing out/breaking???

I agree. Kinda early? Do you have a lot of potholes or just bad roads in general, speed bumps? Big bump from street to driveway?

??

Sorry to hear your luck. I am at 41K now with the reflash and drive in fun-mode 95% of the time and I have replaced a couple batteries under wty and wrapped hockey tape around a rear-seat striker/latch. Everything else has been wonderful.

call me the one bad egg in the basket, well 2 at this point (2007 RDX lemon) but i have not been impressed, at all, with the build quality of the RDX in or out. Ive had numerous issues with my 2008, all basically revolving around structural integrity and build issues. This is just another item on the laundry list of relatively small but aggravating repairs. Among this list are:
- replaced drivers side exterior door handle (the entire handle popped out of the enclosure)
- re-hung passenger side front door numerous times for alignment/rattling issues
- re-clipped (new fasteners) for passenger side interior door covering(s) for rattling issues
- technician added dbl sided padded tape to interior of doors (missing from factory)
- replaced silver center dash trim for rattling
- multiple lubes of drivers window
- multiple fixes for back seat latch rattle
- replaced front passenger side wheel cladding where mudflap goes (basically fell off)
- replaced key fob because key collapses while in ignition
- sunroof will randomly stay open/not shut
- replaced stereo head unit (aux stopped working)

and now @ 46k...im replacing SWAY BARS & linkage. Im not sure what would cause such a repair so soon...but my roads are not that bad and im certainly a driver that is sensitive to road conditions in a freakish way lol so, who knows. if anything, all of this is more discouraging, and yes i know that the vast majority is not mechanical integrity, but bodily intergrity is important too. Since my 2007, the RDX has felt significantly cheaper/cheaply made in comparison to other Acura models, especially those assembled and shipped from Japan, and my CRVs have been more sound. That is my opinion having owned, and i think i have lost count these days, a bazillion acuras and hondas from the early 90s forward. Im happy the RDX is mechanically sound and the turbo seems to be holding up ok, but my tranny has slipped a few times already and makes me wonder about this car in the long run. Fastly approaching 50k miles...thank god Acuras gen warranty is 50k.

All that has to be frustrating. We have just over 100k on our 08. Only issue ever have been weak breaks and fast tire wear. Roads around here are terrible. No squeaks, rattles, misaligned panels. I may just be fortunate with this one, but I think our next car will be another Honda product and an addition to this one.

@Mmike1981 or anyone experiencing this,

My GF has a 2007 RDX with 50kmi. I have been hearing a noise that is a vibration coming from the front end and can't figure out what it is. It only seems to happen when at slower speeds and only on small bumps and rough roads. It doesn't seem to happen on speed bumps or anything big and nothing can be heard when driving at speeds of 30mph or so. Is this similar to what you were experiencing? Can you also tell me how much the fix cost you? Her car is out of warranty and this expense will be coming out of pocket.

Thanks for the help and info.
