Front end clunk
After I put new (aftermarket) strut assemblies on my car it makes a clunk noise when I first start driving and make a turn. I replaced the driver side under parts warranty, but it still does it. I changed the sway bar links as well so I'm pretty sure that isn't the problem.
Lower motor mount: Just for the future folks, my 2010 Acura RDX has a continuous urgent metallic striking noise at takeoff, that sounding like some metallic guts were being torn out. This occurred at 'take off' [left, right, straight], and would dissipate quickly as speed was reached. During troubleshooting, I could also get it to occur if giving it heavy pedal at slow speeds during a downshift. Some, much lesser version of the noise could occur if I help the brake and hit the gas, but NOT the metallic striking noise but a bad low pitched vibration. I finally had a family member perform the 'power brake' while I lay looking underneath and I could see the 'front' u joint of the driveshaft moving completely forward to contact a cross support. Meaning, at takoff those bolts would be spinning and hitting that metal. After removing the lower motor mount you could see it was cracked in half. [picture possibly included if I figured out how] It was a $66 part at Auto store, and a 30 minute job to change with 17/19 wrench/socket and the car runs MUCH smoother in all ways now, so I assume it was failing for awhile.
