Cup Holder retractable cover breaks...

My cup holder cover broke again for the second time and it's a gigantic pain in the ass to fix. You have to remove the center console to retrieve the parts and put the gears back in place. Repeated use causes the screw inside to fall out or something, I'm not sure.

I'm wondering if anyone else has had this problem and found a way to fix it permanently?

All I know now is I'm going to be "very" gentle when opening the cup holder lid! Dang Quality and Control.

Just another shortcut Acura took with the RDX. Thanks for the heads up about the potential problem. I will take it easy on the cover.

I've got a 2007 with 35k. Never babied the lid and never had a problem with it. Hope I don't.

I did run into the same problem. Any tips on how to fix the lid ? Probably an easy job if the gears and parts can be retrieved.

Does someone know how to remove the center console? Please help.

Thanks

Hmmm....I never move the lid. I always keep the thing open and after reading this thread will just keep it that way.
