Cup Holder in the 2010...

The 2010 RDX has the improved cupholder. I was at the dealer today, so I checked it out. It's just a well fitting rubber mat.

I yanked it out and put it in my 2009 RDX and it fits very well.

If you are interested it's part 77231-STK-A01 for $6.

Anything is better than the hard plastic cupholders in the 2009!

Can you post a picture of this? I agree, the hard plastic cupholders suck. Also, can one buy this part online or does one need to go through a dealer? Thanks!

Since it's such a new part, it's going to take a week to get here. I'll be out of town for the next little bit, so it might be a few weeks before I get a pic posted.

Just think rubber mat that fills the bottom with a little texture. On the driver side of the mat is a half moon raised area that looks like it might try to hold a cup in place.

I bet you could order the part at the Acura parts page.

so its just a rubberized bottom? you can just order the full set from the guy on ebay....dr wong or something like that ??? lol i did, not only does it trim out the cupholder, but the entire car (which it should have anyways but doesnt)

the only thing id be happy about is if they made cupholders that actually HOLD a cup...add some teeth in there, or grips, SOMETHING...the cup holder flat out suck countless times shit tips over.

My aunt has a 2008 Hyundai Sante Fe and its cupholders blow away the RDX! So sad. Hers has the expandable teeth so it tightly holds any size cup. Why the heck doesn't Acura do this!?

Now that I'm back in town and have the cupholders installed, I can make a review...

1000% better. I placed a "small" cup from McDonalds in the holder and drove around for a bit. The cup never moved. The testing with a soda can worked just as well. I have not tried a 20oz coffee yet, but I think it will do just fine.

Overall this is the best $6 I've spent on the car so far. I'm not going to say they cup holder is perfect since I can still find ways to improve the design, but given it's current shape and location, this is about all better that it will get. The sales guy was impressed with my find and mentioned that they may just order a few in stock and maybe even call some owners.

I've never had an issue with the cupholder and I have a coffee in there everyday.

In case anyone is still wanting to see the picture of it.

Cup holder rubber mat for 2010 model

Installed in my 08 RDX cup holder

I saw this thread and ordered one at my local Acura dealer. I paid $3.91 and got it in a week. Apparently, they didn't make any changes on the cup holder design for 2010 because it fits perfectly.

No smaller cups or bottles rattling in it now. Unless you take on a sharp corner really aggressively or something...

Drinks rattling in the cup holder used to annoy me so this worked out great.

Thanks for the picture! This does look like an improvement. For <$4, looks to be worth it.

You can try the e-store at

https://estore.honda.com/epc/asp/rjane002.asp

but I might try searching the web a little harder since I'm sure shipping will be more than the part!
