Clicking sound when going from reverse to drive

Hello,

Just got my 2008 RDX and I have noticed loud click when switching to drive from reverse. Like when I pull out of parking, I make a full stop and then shift to drive and hear click when releasing brake.

What bothers me the most it is not there every time just sometimes….Maybe this is how it is supposed to work and I am just tripping due to being brand new car.

Thank you

if its anything like the tsx, its the ABS self check. Its normal. Annoying when first noticed but you get used to it.

Had it in the CRV, have it in my prelude and noticed it in the RDX. For all the cars thoe, its usually after a cold start (meaning the car has sat for 6 hours or more) and then when you back up, put it into drive, drive a meter and you hear it.

I KNOW! I KNOW!

I just asked my service advisor about this, and they took my RDX on a road test recently when I was having a little lower cladding re-mounted (it was a little loose.)

The clicking noise is perfectly normal.

Besides, I have noticed that most Honda automatic transmissions tend to make a loud noise when switching from reverse to forward gears. I heard it on my Civic, may parents Odyssey, my aunts CR-V and now the RDX. Quite normal.

I miss my 6 speed on my RSX-S but eh... you win some and lose some.

I joined this forum just to check on this issue I got my RDX 08 like 2 month back and noticed the click (like most of you) after a cold start. I have even noticed it on my wife's Civic 08 as well. Good to know that there is nothing serious about it, but I will still bring it up to my service guys next time.

Cheers
