Angry 2008 RDX interior light auto-off problem

Hi all,

I have a problem on 2008 RDX interior light auto-off. If I turn map reading light or celling light on and then turn off engine and close the door, the interior light will never go off automatically. I drained my battery completely a few times. Is this eithe I am or ACRURA designer is stupid? Any one has the similar problem?

Thanks.

Turning the map light on by pushing on the lens overrides the auto-off function. Similarly, by turning on the ceiling light, you are moving the switch from 'Door' to 'On'. You need to turn off the light(s) manually after turning them on.

you can put the light switch to auto, that one will turn off automatically. but as yvr says, manually pushing on the lens of the light itself to turn it on will keep it on until you push it off

My 09 Escape will turn all lights after a while no matter what the status was. Never has battery drain issue:-)

Its a design trade off. You add a lot of complexity (second layer of switching on a bunch of lights) to solve a relatively unlikely problem (sorry, dude, but it really doesn't happen much to most people). The RDX will turn off the headlights, since they will drain the battery really fast.
