Hi,
Not sure why this is happening. Just replaced power steering pump and fluid with
Acura pump and fluid. Cleaned reservoir screen. When I start the Rdx I get a
whining noise from the pump until the rdx warms up. The inlet O ring is new.
Do you think the pump is defective?(Three weeks in vehicle). No leaks that I
can see on ground.
What do you think?

Viscosity Question
Noise is gone when weather is now warm.
Anybody know a synthetic power steering fluid to go with?

 

I don't have the answer but would like to know as my 07 just started making the same noise in the morning, kinda like a sick humpback whale. Please let me know what you find out. thanks, kp

 

I'd recommend OEM fluid. Should already be synthetic and for some reason Hondas tend to like their own brand when it comes to this stuff.
