HELP! Im about to take off the Weapon R Intake !!
It might be you are gunning the gas - RonRSX had this problem with his K&N intake and Downpipe.

He went from taping half of his intake filter till changing it to the hi-flow K&N stock style filter.

Just make sure you install the intake correctly - it might sound silly but the Weapon R intake has marking around the end of the intake which it suppose to fit/lock right into the coupler.

Double check everything is tight and secure - also position the intake lower like the picture I post above.

Clean the MAF with a maf cleaner and see if the code still comes up.
You need to either disconnect your battery (Neg) for 5-10 minutes and than connect it back to see if the codes goes available.

Or you can go to your local auto zone to clear the code.
The SH-AWD system shuts down and goes to protection mode when you throw a overboosting or check emission code.

You can also try resetting your ECU - https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-2004-2008-93/resetting-your-ecu-after-mods-environment-changes-631749/

Any Insight !!!

OK, So I miss the sound of the intake... Im going to pick up a fresh can of MAF Cleaner, Reset my ECU, prior to driving the car with new mod.

I already tried taping half way up the filter with no luck... Just suppressed the sound etc.

anyone think it could be my diverter valve malfunctioning...

After I went back to the stock setup i reset my ECU and the car still made the POP / Jerking sound. I went the Acura and got to make a log story short i drove the car with a "master tech" and DID duplicate the sound.

Since then, the Pop/ jerking sounds with the Stock setup has went away... so my hunch is that if I reset the ECU after installing the shortened intake the ECU will educate itself on the new setup as if thats all it knows....?

OH and BTW the "Master Tech" ..... He checked my front engine mount with hopes of resolving the issue.... Idiot!!!

Man I wish I found this thread before I purchased and installed the Weapon-R intake. Im having the same backfire/pop/stall issue. I reached out to Weapon-R and am awaiting a response. Anyone know if the CP-E or K&N intake have the same issues?

somewhere i read if you change the plugs out that it cures the issue.. i have a K&N and sometimes when its cold and i gun it it will pop.. my guess is it has to do with the fact that the RDX is a rich pig and doesnt like all the oil its eating..

relocate

your MAF sensor needs to be close to your air filter and your MAF sensor at a little angle try that and see what you get i had the same problem also make sure all connections are tight clear codes also may have to reset all monitors again and drive a couple of miles a relearn only my 2 cents
