Did you ask Chris at weapon R?

I think it is a PCV Breather - look at the pictures from Kaze66218

It ain't suppose too - try to turn your intake pipe more downwards where the air comes into the stock air box. (If it was still there)

Don't cut the pipe.
I email weapon R - (Chris) and had to sent the pipe for them to mod it shorter.

Email him to see if they can do the same.
They will do a much cleaner job than any of us trying.

If you order it online - you can just sent him the order number.

They will shorter the intake pipe where the MAF is at.
If you look at the other end of the intake pipe - there is a round divider where it split the air to go to two different section toward the end pipe.

So you can't cut/mod the pipe on that end.

Send him the paypal or order number.
They should be able to put it up from there because Weapon R ship it directly to you from their warehouse.

No supplier carry these in stock anymore.
Save them money on the shipping and holding the items at their store or warehouse.

This is how your weapon r intake pipe suppose to be. (Also you should mount your alarm horn away from the fuse box like me)

Alarm horn should be pointed down to avoid water collection.

Don't do that - just give him a call directly then.
You get a response quicker.

Save the DIY as the last resort.

Hey bud - if you read the posting above.

You need to contact Chris at Weapon R so they can custom make your intake pipe shorter.

They made all their pipe too long and it is hitting the ECU.
Turn around time is quick - just need to confirm with Chris that he has time to do it first.

Look how low my intake filter can sit now - the stock air box inlet blows air right to the filter.

Exclamation More issues !!

Okay, Im encountering another issue which kinda worries me a lot... my car now makes a backfiring, popping, misfire feeling from the transition from 1st to 2nd gear at 75 - 100 % throttle.

I checked the fit and noticed the hood rubs / puts pressure down on the weapon R intake. So i went ahead and adjusted / tightened all of the clamps.

Although it rubs still, Im yet to test if the symptoms continue.... Anyone have a clue whats going on here? Could I possible be drawing un-metered air through a gap in the intake piping due to improper fit?

I also dont feel much of an improvement in power etc... Just the sweet ass turbo spooling sound. If anything I feel a loss in power. No check engine light tho.

It is due to the intake pipe being too long.
Same issue with me and Chris @ Weapon R mod the pipe to be shorter.

Problem went away afterwards - Trust me and get in contact with him to see if he can fix your intake.

Really??

So you def think the length is the cause of the POP / Jerk / backfire in-between 1st and 2nd gear?

That seems like a such a simple fix. Wonder what cause is behind the length making the backfire.

Hope this is not messing up my car.

Im going to make a Vid soon.

I'm hearing that the maf sensor is very sensitive to location.

Here are some recent emails to cp-e re: a long tube cai.

Thanks for the quick reply Josh.

Is it possible to discuss the issues this could cause and how to possibly overcome them?

If so would you be the best person to discuss this with?

Thanks,

Cars are too smart now. A big change like that will mess up the reading at the mass air flow sensor. No we do not recommend that.

We have an '11 RDX.
Is it possible to buy an additional section of tubing and a coupler to
combine with your cp-e intake to improvise a cai that may be routed as I
choose?

I have an inlet in my fog lite grill and want the filter relocated.

Thanks,

I have A Weapon R intake also on my '07 RDX and I'm getting the same backfiring/poping/jerking at the 1st to 2nd gear change at full throttle. I didn't have any fitment issues when I installed the intake. It seems like I'm hitting fuel cut from maybe overboosting, not really sure. I did get the Hondata reflash not that long after the intake, but it didn't make any difference. To make matters worse I threw a check engine light today (P0172 Rich condition bank 1) and a SHAWD light that I'm gonna have to get checked out. Also, I run 93 octane here in Illinois so I don't think it's a fuel issue.

Since I'm not sure how to edit posts I'll add this as a reply. I just went out and scanned my ECM and found 2 codes, the p0172 (rich bank 1) and a pending p0234 (overboost condition). I don't see how I could be going rich with the hondata reflash since they lean out the stock program and all I have is an intake. Guess the o2 sensor could be going bad with 65k miles on the odometer?

^You have the same intake and symptoms as vaprea but you think its the O2 sensor going bad?

Did this start before or after you installed the intake?

Post a pic of your set up.

Meanwhile avoid the conditions that cause the detonation until you can mod the intake to correct the problem.

Did you read my email to cp-e...it is realitive to this problem...

It is the same codes that I had before - read my old posting.
I mod the intake pipe and clean the maf.

See if that helps - if not; you need to turn back to stock.

wow!

I'm a mix between sad & glad to hear I'm not the only one encountering the symptoms.

I went ahead and cleaned the MAF and re-fit the intake once again, still same issues.

Sent an email to Chris @ weapon R he responded same day requesting photos of install. I just sent the photos and ill keep you posted.

I am not drawing any codes. Or i am at-least Im not showing a check engine light etc on my dash.

If I Scan and check for codes would they still be visible with no warning light triggers?

Yes. If it did not set the mil you could still have pending codes. Some tests can take as much as 300 miles to complete.

I suggested to Chris that I would be willing to chop the pipe in attempt to solve the issue; if he would let me know what modifications were needed.

He said it would be as easy as chopping 1.5" off of the end facing the turbo. So naturally I went ahead and did the modification, it came out real nice; but after driving around the backfire / POP between 1st and 2nd gear continue. No longer at full throttle more at 75% - 80% throttle. from a stop through 2nd gear.

So the other night I cleared the code I had (p0172) and after driving back and forth to work it hasn't come back yet. Still getting the backfiring through the intake at full throttle on 1-2 shift. One thing I didn't mention was that when the code did come on it was after a pretty nasty thunderstorm, and after reading through the problem & fixes forum it seems like moisture affects our cars computer systems or something, someone correct me on that please?

Question

Yes word around town is that the RDX is sensitive to moisture.

Potentially bad news for me, living in Florida its basically 100% humidity every day with min 30% chance of rain during the summer.

I have over 300 miles on my car with the modified intake still no codes but still the horrible backfire every now and again.

Anyone recommend I take off another 1/2 inch or so and see if the backfire continues?

Went to and from the beach today and my car threw up two lights SH-AWD and Check Emissions system.

After driving 45 miles with the lights on, I got home and immediately turned the car off let it sit for 30 sec and then back on the SH-AWD light is off. Also while the SH-AWD light was on I only had power to the front wheels. Now that the light is off I have power to all 4. The Check emissions light remains.

HELP! Im about to take off the Weapon R Intake !!

if the Weapon R intake gave you problem since Day 1.
& your RDX gave you numerous warning lights.
you shouldn't be hesitate to return it back to Stock Intake.
