VTEC Question
Well I am running with an open downpipe. i can hear everythinggg. but when vtec engages, it sorta lifts into it and its there... know what i mean? its not the signature waaaaaahhhhhhh-BAAAAAAAAAHHHHH that you hear coming from other hondas.

I have an RDX 2007, I had a CL-S before and yeah its not the same. But we have turbos and they dont. We win. (Even though they are baby snailshells hehehehe)

EDIT : Marcus, your waaahh--BAAAAAHH cracked me up. hahaha

lol! at this thread.
Honda's have come a long way in developing vtec.
you will no longer "FEEL' when vtec engages..
no longer are the days of your prelude "popping" when vtec engages.
its yesteryear

BRING BACK THE WAAAAAHH--BLLLAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH Please
Forgot to mention this, I did this to mine and yes, there is more noise coming from the engine compartment.
If I may interject here. It's because Honda has developed I-Vtec, which is more gradual than Vtec. I have an RSX and it is nothing like the old Vtec, it's a gradual bwwwaaaaaaahhhhhAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
the reason is because the noise you've heard is valvetrain noise, usually resonating out an intake. The turbo acts as a great muffler on both the intake and exhaust sides of the engine's breathing.
