This is NOT a DIY project!
I could not get the nut off with my air gun, so I went to my mechanic friend and used his professional gun. No go...it turns out you also need a professional grade air compressor as well...
My intstallation will be delayed by at least a couple of weeks, bummer.
JCRDX11, did your mechanic check to see if the belt tension was still in spec after this change? There is an indicator arrow with a range of acceptable tension range.

Hey Rocket,
I'm thinking a 3/4" drive socket, extension, and breaker bar with a cheater bar over that. Pull the pass side front wheel and access thru there. Stand on the cheater bar if you have to.
Anyone with a service manual could help with torque specs to give you an idea of how much force you need and the proper tools and method to remove it. Also make sure they are not left hand threads.

The Pully looks fantastic, almost too bling for my taste. It is a good thing you can't see it.
This is one of the very few modifcations that is truly "free" horse power with no down side. I highly recommend this modifaction.
Most people will have a mechanic do this and it is a 30 minutes max conversion. I was just giving the DIYers a heads up. Don't let me comments turn you off on this mod.

the stock crank pulley takes a special tool to hold it in place and take off.. in a pinch you can raise the vehicle and put a breaker bar on the nut and do a quick crank on the engine (it slaps against the lower control arm and doesnt hurt it).. takes about 2 times then it loosens the nut.. TQ specs are up there 130+ ft lbs i believe.. if you dont want the pinch way to do it.. you need a good impact to take it off easily 800 ft lbs gun

I have been driving for a few weeks now with no problems.
The car revs up a little faster. (The electric throttle is a killer *Slow*)
But I am too cheap to spend +$300 for the sprint booster.
I rather save to get the AEM FIC.

Focus more towards the AEM FIC.
Boomslag can do a plug and play harness for me.
Tuner say that he can program the FIC on the RDX.
Only thing stopping me right now is the funds.

Ordered the crankcase pulley and talked with XLR8 this morning. He's going to split up a UR TSX pulley kit and send me the p/s/ pulley out of it.
I'll have nothing to compare the p/s pulley against since I'll have my mechanic install both at the same time. I will do a weight comparison of the p/s pulley.
I'd be interested in doing some of the before and after tests. If I remember I will go back to DRR98's posts and record what I can.
Should be back with some results in a week and a half or so.

JCRDX11 and Rotary Rocket.. can you guys give your fans some feedback on the crank pully now that it's been installed for a few months?
Any issues?
Rotary Rocket, when you state that your belt tension is at the limit.. do you mean at the limit of being too lose or being too tight?

Got the p/s and crank pulley installed a day or two after the TMIC.
Hard to tell a difference in combination with the intercooler install, but the weight savings is definitely there. It revs out slightly faster, I didn't notice a big jump myself.
The p/s pulley is probably not necessary, but it's cool to be the only RDX with one.
Haven't ran into any issues but I've only driven it a week or so.

- New P/S pulley weight: 8.4 oz
- Old P/S pulley weight: 20 oz
- New crank pulley weight: 12.4 oz
- Old crank pulley weight: 3lbs 15.6 oz

Have u guys noticed a difference in power/acceleration? When researching in other forums, some ppl said they felt a very noticeable difference and called it the best bang for their buck besides the reflash while other ppl have said that they feel no difference... How do u guys feel with it?

All is fine with this mod so far. The belt is on the verge of being too loose, but still in spec.
No issues experienced, she is peepy as ever.

JC returned his RDX to stock and sold it and all his mods quite a while back.
