Stick Shift.....

If a stick shift makes sense for the TL wouldn't it make even more sense for the RDX....??

And maybe a DFI engine upgrade for improved FE...??

Acura sells a lot more TLs than RDXs, so they can afford to develop and stock more different TL options.

jony is right. If they dont sell many cars of this model they wont bother developing a new transmission. Same with V6 accords. Only 8th generation comes with MT

Acura is likely very well aware that it is the SH-AWD system that "enables" the stick shift option and therefore they need not wait for public approval/acceptance.

No one would DARE putting a stick shift in a FWD vehicle with this level of HP/toque, absent a serious level of very sophisticated(***) "pre-emptive" TC.

Even "standard" engines in FWD vehicles with stick shift are rapidly disappearing.

With the average inexperienced driver the insurance rates would go through the roof.

*** Engine rev-matching to avoid skids due to inadvertent/inappropriate downshifting on a low traction surface.

umm. the TL w/ SH-AWD is in automatic form only. While I wish the RDX had a manual transmission available, I understand why it doesn't.

Thumbs up shift my gears

Even though I prefer a stick over an automatic transmission it has to be in the right application. I wouldn't buy the RDX in a manual option. I mean the whole reason why people buy suv/cuv's is to have extra comfort, utility and in the RDX's case some sportiness (balanced very well if you ask me). I bet that BMW doesnt sell many manual X3's ...

yea for now, but the stick is coming as a 2010 model...and its def quicker than the auto.

that said, no stick in my suv please, im just happy Acura started doing paddle shifters let alone putting sticks into all the cars. They should focus on a tranny with 6 gears, godforbid they abandon the 5 speed auto for once.
