RDX Stubby antenna

I was wondering if anyboy has put a short/stubby antenna on the RDX yet. The stock antenna looks out of place and cheap. I think a shorter one would be better. I was wondering if something like this would work http://www.mangowalk.com/index.php?sku=30174 ? I know the reception would be worse but with XM radio I never listen to Fm radio. Thanks

i put on a perrin shorty about 1-1/2" tall last year and the reception on radio and xm is as good in metro Denver as with the factory antenna.

i keep the old antenna in the console just in case for trips but i haven't needed it yet

That's pretty sweet! I am wondering about the signal loss accompany this; does it affect it alot, I imagine it would. Although, it may be the OEM mast is mostly plastic and the static while driving is EMI too, the metal Perrin may reject the EMI better.

I really plan on buying one, trying hd radio with it..

Quads look nice too, needs a darth vader chest light piece where the front license plate is, and a black cape on the upper part of the rear hatch! K&N typhoon too-- That.. WOULD BE SICK!

Sorry for the delay. I got it on eBay. It works great, as for I can see, with no problems with reception.

I like it. Thanks for the link.

Does it fit without any mods? because in the link's compatible vehicles list, RDX is not listed as compatible.

No mods at all. Just choose the threaded piece that fits the car. It's all in the box.

Took my OEM antenna off to bring home a long piece of lumber on the roof rack and haven't noticed any reception issues. What gives? Is the rubber antenna just for looks?

Looks like I will be buying a stubby too. Mine was on the center console and rolled off and under the passenger seat (into the black hole) and now I can't find it.

Torque Solutions

Found the old one in the glove box yesterday. I guess the dealer found it when they vacuumed the car last week.

I take mine off before going thru car washes (didn't do this with the stock antenna), although I usually wash her by hand.
