You sure it's a t20? Isn't that a Garrett turbo? And I think it's smaller, maybe. Is double check the upgrade. 18t, 19t, 20g dunno what they are offering you, but research it first. I vote upgrade, but make a good choice.

Nope, our turbo is a unique version of Mitsubishi TD04-15T turbo.
AFAIK, t18 wheel can be transplanted into our turbo. I highly doubt you can do this with t20.

I would say go for it, the gains should be noticeable, even with the stock turbo levels. I've been looking into that, but need to get my hands on a used spare RDX turbocharger to tear it apart and see what compressor wheel actually can be fit in there.

My intention is to swap only a larger compressor wheel so it can be plug&play, the exhaust side would be all right once the bypass is activated at high RPM.

And get a bunch of CELs?

VFT was designed to create a descent torque in the mid revs range.
With bigger turbo and 2.3l engine your peak torque will further into high revs range. This will create a very noticeable turbo lag. You'll need more exhaust gases coming out to spin this turbo before you get positive spool.
Just think how often do you rev up your RDX?!

Can you please explain your point?
How are supposed to get rid of VF actuator that is controlled by the ECU without getting the CEL?

If Bisimoto can make a 550+ CRZ, I think we can get away with an upgraded turbo. Maybe we should contact him!?!?

Bisi worked with a non-stock ECU. And he got it professionally tuned. This job costs crazy money.

Plus he is the professional that tuned it, that's why I said we should call him.

We dont need that for getting 300-330 hps on the wheels out of our powerplant.
However, I dont think getting something bigger than those numbers is a smart idea as the only option for a tranny is our 5spd AT. Which has its own limits.
+ Dont forget about our rear differential, that will need to handle 50-70% more torque. Its already not as tough as Evo's rear diff. And you are going to push it to its max capabilities with all those mods you are going to install and tune in your car.
Imho, our healthy limits are 300-320hps (on the wheels), 320-340 lb/ft torque.

With all due respect (and I do have a ton of it for what you are doing), the biggest issue still has not been targeted in your project. Cooling down the air intake temp. Just working on this issue can give you additional 10-15 hps (if not more). Getting our IAT below 45-50C will allow tuners to tune the whole setup more aggressively and more safely.

Yeah, was just inputting for the post. Me personally, I have no interest in going beyond stock turbo or stock turbo upgrade. The tranny was a big concern with my mechanic also. I think a TMIC and tuner will be good for me.
