New to forum

Hey all !!! New to the rdx world and I love my rdx. The first thing I did was the hondata tune and drop in a k&n filter. Now I'm wondering what should I do next. I've done some searching here on the site and the big things seem to be exhaust and the upgraded intercooler. I liv in alberta canada. Wondering if I had to pick one which one would benefit me more. Power vs fuel, hopefully without havering to get the flash pro to retune it. Thanks guy!!!

Welcome!

do the down pipe as the next option.. thats my vote.. intercooler isnt going to make a vast difference and the exhaust is minimal. the downpipe will help the fuel economy and give you hp

Welcome to the forum! What is the year, model of your RDX?

I did:
- Hondata reflash
- K/N drop in filter
- ETS intercooler
- Hondata heatshield gasket
- Eibach lowering springs

I would also change out the spark plugs with OEM if you are close to the 70,000-100,000 mile mark. I've notice improve mpgs and restored power in both my TSX and RDX when I changed my spark plugs @ 100K. Not going to wait 100,000 for next spark plug change. Upgrading tires to almost anything other than OEM will improve the fun factor and wet/snow handling.

My combined mpgs went up about 2-2.5 mpg combined since upgrading the engine parts along with having extra power. The RDX is so much easier to drive and more enjoyable with extra hp/tq. The cost of the intake and/or exhaust "bang of the buck" wasn't as great compared to Hondata/ETS intercooler. The downpipe has a very high band for the buck ratio just like Hondata and ETS intercooler. We have to do emission testing every other year in my town and I wasn't 100% sure if I would have problems down the road with a downpipe. So far, I've put almost 80,000 miles (108,000 miles total) and never have a check engine light or related problems with the upgrades.

Thanks for the reply guys!!! I thought about the down pipe but wouldn't that need a tune? If not how do the prevent any check engine lights? Assuming that removes a cat

the downpipe doesnt need a tune unless you add all the bolt ons possible for the vehicle. really what makes it go into unsafe A/F is the aftermarket intakes that are installed

if you do the full intake, reflash and downpipe you are fine.. not sure if your intake is just a filter in the stock location or an actual intake..

second question you had.. cat or no cat the rv6 downpipe has a defouler added so you shouldnt get a check engine light.. if you dont have the cat added though you will get a nasty exhaust smell

Yeah, I'll take a catless downpipe with a side of eye-stinging exhaust fumes. No emissions test for me in my county (not yet) - even though I'm only ~50 miles or so outside ATL, GA. Take a deep breath on a 90+ degree day there w/ the telative humidity in the high 80% range. I can't believe my po-dunk county hasn't required it yet...
