Is your BOV venting to atmosphere or back to the intake like the original part? If to atmosphere, during a shift when it blows your car will spike rich for a second, which could cause some fuel to exit the engine and cause a backfire when it ignites in the exhaust.

Also, curious what your injector duty cycle is at with those mods. I think others have said you're pushing it on stock injectors when you combine intake, DP and IC upgrades with Hondata (increase in boost). BUT, I doubt that would cause your backfiring issues. If anything, detonation or misfiring from running too lean.

if its not tuned with those mods you could be running dangeriously lean hopefully you arent just running the flashpro with a regular reflash/

next question to bring up is does this happen all the time? ive noticed if the vehicle isnt all the way warmed up it can cause it every now and then..

have you checked to see if there are any codes that have popped up in the flashpro due to this?

Nope I have flashing done each time I installed new parts by a flashing expert. Not getting any code on this bam. My old code that I got is p0234 overboost which got it fixed just waiting for new boost gauge. My mechanic said . The stock boost gauge is dangerous not showing how many boost giving and no light warning so yeah. Thanks for replying

Do you think it might be the air intake filter cause that the bthe bam happened once after I changed the k.n. Filter to a dry filter. I took the k.n. Out so I could wash it

So...before you start doing all kinds of things, do as blue said and change your BOV to recirc. Atmospheric valves will almost always cause problems (especially backfires, among other things) when tuning is not adjusted for them, for the reason I gave above. Either that, or find out how to adjust your tune so that it compensates for your atmospheric valve, although I'm not sure if the Flashpro has tables unlocked for that. *IF* that doesn't work, then dig further.

can we run our bov's to the atmosphere without any real issues besides a backfire here and there which i don't mind? I know on my old galant vr4 it would stall right out if you tried to vent it.

Well if you have a cat, you run the risk of rendering it useless. Otherwise I don't think there is any major issue aside from you occasionally spitting a bit of fire out your exhaust. I suppose it *might* prematurely wear or foul your spark plugs, but I honestly don't think the rich spikes are bad enough for that. Pretty sure the fuel just moves right through the cylinder and into the exhaust. That is just my speculation though.

back in the day when people where first adding a BOV to the RDX they found that it needs to be atleast 80% recirc otherwise it will cause issues.. which could be backfiring, running to rich, car hesitation, sometimes vehicle dies due to AFR ect.. your safe bet is to run full recirc and just have a good aftermarket intake so you can hear the BOV that way

^^^ What he said...I should have specified - should be no problem in terms of damage risk. You may have issues with it running smoothly.

hi thanks for all the replys all this info helps alot but my bov was done way ahead of times . first i changed to turbosmart 50/50 and then once i got flashpro i just went for full atmosphere alot of programing on flashpro and rework on the hood to really make it work without killing engine or backfire . i notice backfire after the overboost code fix. im still waiting for my aftermarket boost gauge to install. my mechanic say ill need further tune up on flashpro again. all those flashpro tune up are done on street . i might ask for dyno tune once i got those 800cc injectors but i had few question befor getting those. thanks

If you're going for sound, just get an s pipe like this one. It's makes the BOV louder for sure!

Thanks, just trying to be here for everybody and keep doors open for the RDX. I'll take some pictures of the section for the front mount intercooler, so everyone can see why it may not work for our chassis.

This is the route of the RSX and Civic that the intercooler piping goes, as you can see it's not open on the RDX. You will need to cut for sure.

Injectors aren't bad; however, the brake will hit hard.
