Flash pro Question

A person online is selling a flash pro for a 2g tsx. Will that work with my car even though it is said for the tsx. It was unlinked from the ecu and know the only difference is the serial key is just reg as a tsx. Any ideas of it will work on my rdx?

I think this is a question worth posting on the Hondata forums, as well, if you want verification. I think that while Flashpro Manager works for any vehicle and has basemaps loaded, I think each Flashpro is linked to the specific vehicle type.

But, in general? Don't buy a flashpro used. If you're considering getting a flashpro, go for the RV6 downpipe + flashpro combo. It's /really/ worth it. Removes both the primary restriction and gives you tuning capability. If you just do not want to get that deep in it and want to leave everything stock, just find a tuner who has a Dealer Flashpro and get them to tune your car on an AWD dyno. Much better than just getting the Hondata reflash. There are too many potential risks in getting a used flashpro. After all, the seller could show the screenshot, reload their map, and then dump the flashpro on you.

But the guy who is selling it unlocked it from his tsx. He is selling it on this forum because he sold his car and is parting out the mods.

They are vehicle model specific. Can't use a FP meant for another model. FP Manager is universal, but the FP unit itself is not.

I asked my dealer and he confirmed it. Most Flashpros are vehicle locked. There is something called a 'Dealer Flashpro' which is sold to Hondata dealers only and is used for on-site reflashing or on-site dyno tunes.

You "lock" FP to your ECU when you use it. It's only allowed to "lock" to one ECU at a time so you can't rip off Hondata. You can reflash the stock tune back on and unlock it from the ECU at any time to resell, but again, they are vehicle model specific.

Locking the hondata to a ECU and using a different model vehical on a rdx are 2 different things. The tsx flashpro will NOT work on a rdx FP. Order one up from vit and you get a great price on a tune also in the package deal.
