Experiences with IMR downpipe?

Currently looking for a downpipe and see that most people are using the RV6 but seeing as its not made anymore I was able to find an alternative made by a company called IMR. My question is does anybody have any experience with this company or is someone on here already running some of their pipes? Thankyou in advance for the feedback

If you don't get any responses here, you may want to check the 3000GT and Stinger sites. You are the first I've seen bring them up. Good luck. I bought my RV6 in the last buy they had.

I'm also looking at the IMR brand down and mid pipe. Options are slim for the aftermarket these days

Have you had a chance to install it yet? If so does everything fit good without modification?

Did not yet install. Worth noting that you should get the primary and secondary downpipe. This is so, because the OE configuration utilizes a flex joint between the primary and secondary cat convertor. the IMR downpipe does not support such a connection, and utilizes a section of flex pipe in the secondary. Yes, it will bolt up to the OE secondary, but doing so will eliminate the primary flex joint in the exhaust system, which will likely cause issues.

The verdict? Either get the primary and secondary or keep it stock.

I’m about to pull the trigger on their downpipe and secondary pipe. Would love to hear about the install and also hear it on your car first. Do you have plans to install soon?

IMR took their time creating this for RDX Com. They waited until they could get a donor car from someone to mock everything up and get good fitment, (they didn't guess).
The price is great and will be going up as more people start buying. I know a couple of people that are using it with no issues.

I am currently awaiting an order. I ordered in April 3rd and its taking quite a bit longer than expected. After a couple weeks I sent an email, no answer. Finally sent an IG message and got a reply. They are waiting for some "new flanges to be cut and shipped to them" The exhaust leak I had last October finally came back so I'm losing AWD after a few miles driving. I really hope they ship in a timely manner. I'm not sure if I would've purchased if I knew I'd be waiting over a month (I would've just went with a custom exhaust locally). I have a ETS TMIC and Hondata coming next month. I hope these IMR parts arrive before these other ones do.

I installed the IMR primary and secondary dp about a week ago. Fitment is good, with one minor complaint. I did not receive a gasket for the connection of the primary to the secondary. Ended up ordering this: https://www.ticonindustries.com/coll...st-gasket-3-id

I sucked it up and ordered new sensors. Waiting on their arrival and will probably do the install. Can anyone tell me how long this took and any tips?

Well that took me way longer than expected. Broke some bolts, couldn't get access, I let Kroil work its magic for a few days. I noticed a leaky pipe part number 19540-RWC-A00 was spewing radiator fluid. I'm trying to JB Weld it until Wed when the part will arrive. I had a lot of trouble aligning the two downpipes mainly due to access. I think I may still need to tighten the bolts between the primary and secondary. I only got to take it around the block once before I noticed the smoke from radiator fluid. Once you remove the stock downpipe the install isn't too bad. Threw a couple codes but I'll see what happens once I actually run her for a little while later this week.

So I've been running the primary and secondary downpipe for over a month with great results. Sounds a lot nicer after I resolved other exhaust issues (bad gaskets and broken flanges on catback area. I replaced the coolant/vacuum pipe finally, it was a breeze after removing my TMIC so many times, take me 10 min tops. I added a throttle body heat spacer gasket, if I can find good weather/ time during my long weekend I will do the Hondata heat shield gasket for the exhaust manifold as well. Also replaced all the push clips up front in the bumper area sn it all feels so much tighter and more response. In addition, I replaced both sway bars bushings with Prothane greasable sway bar bushings. Wow, what difference. This car is so much funner to drive, and I got a 2mpg increase after the stock modded tune. I changed the rev limited to 7200 and it sounds great when I decide to push it a little. Now I just need the true 3 inch catback and to refurb/upgrade my turbo

Glad to hear it’s running well!

I was looking at a few YouTubers who tried to replace the primary downpipe and it looks like a pain in the ass with the limited clearance!

I have an upgraded turbo, these exhaust pipes, injectors, and an intercooler in the garage … I’m chomping at the bit to get going. Any tips for removing / replacing the exhaust? Did you need to buy new gaskets to bolt up either side? How is the heat in the engine bay?

It is definitely a pain in the ass especially if you have corrosion and rusted bolts. I had to loosen the upper torque rod and remove the lower torque rode and use a jack with a piece of wood to lift my engine. I had a friend rock the engine forward while I pulled and twisted the cat out with the heat shield on. Maybe I'll film it when I reinstall my cat. It will be soon I bought the following gaskets
Amazon Amazon
I had to slight alter the holes on the downpipe to fit these beefier bolts. I may have reused the original springs though. I will have to check. I haven't really checked the head but It will be cooling down here in Massachusetts so Im not very worried about temps. I am getting the ETS TMIC soon so that will also help. I still have a ways to go with power upgrades but I'm looking forward to seeing your build.

I ordered a downpipe, secondary, and defouler. Well that was 8.OCT.2024. Here we are today 13.Nov.2024 I have none of my parts!!! I’ve tried to call to a voicemail that takes no answers. No update until I emailed every for of email imr has. After the two week mark I was told there was a lack of flanges. (I have all emails also) so I asked what I can do I have friends in machine shops. Was told they are ordered and should be in. Ok so, one week after I try to call email etc on a time frame as it’s getting cold I don’t want to be doing this in the freezing weather etc. I now get told that his/their (imr) welder crashed and broke both of his wrist!!! So now what I am told he’ll personally try and get it out the following week. Whelp here we are 5 weeks after purchase. With no product. I need to replace the car I thought this would be a great idea and it’s a horrible experience. I’m email called etc over the past couple days and no response. So that being said I’m not happy and want my money. I’m talking to our fab shop for who I work for and going to see about making up one on a couple weeks if anyone is interested let me know. As for imr I wish I was one of yall that actually received what you paid for after looking around on the web seems like this isn’t uncommon for them.

Ordered it, never got it

DO NOT buy this IMR DOWNPIPE. I have been waiting almost 2 months and still don’t have it. Like others have said, you won’t get any responses when you try to contact them after you find out that it’s taking way longer than they originally told you. I called, messaged them, no answers. This was MANY attempts by the way. Finally I had to dispute the charge with my bank. 1 week goes by, and they finally text me and say the fabricator is dealing with personal issues. Whether or not that’s true who knows. Because you can read reviews on this place on other car forums and there is very little positive discussions about them. All the same stories as well. So anyway, they say it “should” ship on Monday. But of course, they want me to pay them back the money first. So how do I know for sure that they are going to ship it? I don’t trust them one bit. Especially after they originally told me it would be 2-3 weeks. Apparently they always promise to “ship next week” etc and end up not doing so. Order cancelled. I’m very disappointed. I sold my original RDX years back which was built up. Finally bought another as a daily driver after regretting selling my old one and was looking forward to this as the RV6 I originally had was discontinued. So now, I guess all I can do is a second cat delete. For at least a little bit better sound….

Id like to know as well!

I ordered the IMR downpipe either Thanksgiving or Christmas sale when they had it. Haven't had any updates but I was also waiting on the ATLP exhaust to be ready so I didn't really care.
Now that the exhaust is ready from heeltoe I wonder how long it'll be before the downpipe is ready....
Was wanting to get the secondary pipe as well from them

Did you end up getting the IMR downpipe? I’m considering ordering one for my 2009 RDX but I haven’t heard anything about them as of late.

I did end up getting it, I called them and the fabricator was recoverong from a serious car accident or something and once he was back working he got it built fast. I ended up buying the mid pipe from them as well. Shipped pretty quickly, they've just been waiting to get installed for almost 6 months now lol
