exhausting possibilities

hey everyone if you could have exactly what you want in an exhaust what would it be. would you replace just the down pipe or would you go full exhaust cat less?

I have been talking to Greg at MBS in Pasadena MD seems like a great guy and is willing to do some development on our platform im also asking Marcus at heal toe to be our possible point of contact for any group buy that may come of our development. my rdx is getting dropped off at the beginning of next month for the R&D of a full 3inch stainless turbo back it will have provisions for a cat and it should be able to bolt up to the factory stuff. not sure on price yet he will know more when he sees the vehicle again.

I would be interested in knowing the power, sound, and cost difference between a single hi flow cat in the midpipe versus a catless design. In the past, I have heard the catless design has a pretty bad smell to it...even if you can tune out the possibility of a CEL.

Jason at Alpermotorsports is designing one for me this way - if he gets around to it sometime this century.

For the rest of the exhaust, I really like the quad tailpipe look and a sound that DEFINITELY not ricey, but that is a matter of preference, I suppose...

sure would be nice to have a downpipe and mid with just 1 cat and full 3inch titanium exhaust after words (that would be the perfect world) but cost seems to be the big factor..

cost is going to be the key thing.. seems like avg price of a downpipe with mid is 600 to 750 due to only a few around willing to make it once ebay companies like OBX and stuff get ahold of it the price for a downpipe will drop drammaticly ive talked to a few local shops that were willing to do a custom one for me around the 500 price but that them having the vehicle for a bit and honestly i rather have my vehicle down for a day then a week or so..

so with that all in mind i am curious on pricing

I have a 2012 and I am going with a 3" tubing all the way and quad tips at the end. I saw the exhaust on another car and it looked pretty good. The exhaust I have is ready to go, but I am swapping the flowmaster tips (the last guy scratched them up pretty bad).

The custom downpipe/midpipe combo was pretty sweet with the sigle cat, but again it is taking forever to fabricate...

when i do the exhaust i will be doing these tips.. http://www.ebay.com/itm/390547250574...#ht_3318wt_746

i think for the 10-12 models it would look best compared to round tips
