I decided to Plasti-dip my front and rear emblems.

I washed and then clean it with alcohol.
Taped it off, while leaving about a 1/4 space around the rear emblem (it will help you take the rubberized paint off afterwards).
Gave it a very light first coat, and then three more coats.
Very important to get 4 coats, otherwise the overspray will not come off easily.
30 minute wait between coats is all you need.
Also wait 30 minutes after the last coat and as you are taking off the masking make sure you "peel" off the overspray as well.
Hold can about 6 inches away while spraying.
Make sure it is not windy.
Shake the can really well, otherwise it will spray clear.
If it starts to run on you, then you are too close.
If it give you a dimpled look, then you are too far away while spraying.

The best part is you can peel it off if you don't like the results.
Plasti-dip come in different colors as well, in case you wanted to paint your emblems red, etc.

Just ordered two cans of (B92P) OEM Black pearl base coat paint, keeping my fingers crossed that the emblems will be a perfect color match to my car after clear.

If all goes well with the acura emblems, ill then be attempting to paint all the emblems on the rear door and hopefully it looks clean.

Anyone have a recommendation for a good quality clear-coat brand, type, etc... ? This will be my first base coat /clear coat project.

I painted my accord coupe's grill / rear emblem matte black w/ Plasti Dip & it looked amazing.

I went with Matte Black Plastic Dip Spray.

 

& I ditched the RDX

considering moving SH-AWD up to where the RDX was.
