I purchased my RDX used in 2010 and it already had and OEM roof rack. It still looks good with zero fading and no hwy noise. I use it for my Yakima Rocketbox Pro 14; which, is large enough to carry cross country skis in winter and lawn chairs/large 3 person sports umbrella in the summer.

The only thing you need to watch for the weight limit for the RDX is 110lbs total on the roof. Some aftermarket rack/boxes may be rated much more than that; but, the RDX roof isn't.

Another suggestion is you can put a hidden hitch on the back and use a cargo tray with a box/bag for about $200-$300 for everything. The cargo in the tray and skis in the hatch (assuming you don't have 4 folks to haul around). Not sure if they make a trailer hitch mounted ski attachment (it would be very cool if they do).

I purchased my 07 without a roof rack, looked at after market Yakima and Thule. Decided to go w factory rack and Yakima bike accessories. Orem roof rack was like 350ish and was tricky install, if that's not your thing check around install should not be that much. Check dealer first then work from there with local shops.
Good luck

Why did you go with the OEM instead of the aftermarket options?

Is acura car parts super store a reputable vendor? They have a rack listed for $300. I looked at yakima and thule and they are actually going to be more expensive than than the OEM roof rack.

Roof Rack 2007 - 2012 Acura RDX, Acura Parts Super Store- Acura Accessories and Parts for sale online for a discount.

My 07 did not have the rail system installed so if went w aftermarket I would have to use the clip system. I think OEM is a lot cleaner and I can use any aftermarket accessories on it. I think that's where I bought mine, but you can always call the local dealer and see if they will price match.
