Aftermarket Boost Gauge

Hi fellow RDX upgraders,

Has anyone added an aftermarket boost gauge to their RDX? If so, which one, and where did you hook it up?

I impulse bought a cheapo $30 gauge at Autozone the other day. Hooked it up and it seems to work, but it only shows me building about 10psi of boost, and when idling / not using boost it stays well into the vacuum range. Only reads 0psi with no vacuum when the turbo is actively spooling. Is this correct, or is it possible I hooked it up wrong?

Attached pic is where on the intake manifold I patched the boost gauge in. Wondering if there's a better spot to meter boost pressure from. Thanks in advance for any suggestions and insight

little white t junction just below the green ziptie is where the boost gauge measures from.

Kept forgetting to take this pic for ya. I actually ended up disconnecting it, it was a $30 autozone gauge and I'm pretty sure it was causing a boost leak :/

It also just rattled a lot and made the car sound un-cool.... going to look into something better quality. If anyone has any suggestions I'm all ears.

Nice and thanks for this thread. Sorry to hear it wasn’t working out just right. Mine seems to be working great, so far. I actually put mine in almost the same spot. Looks like yours is in line with the solenoid? I wonder if that has an impact one way or the other. I originally put it in line with the wastegate on the back, but decided to change it to the front by the intake manifold. It sits around 20 inHg, and boost will run up to about 10psi while driving.

I mounted mine just in between the steering wheel and the stock boost gauge. I used 3m duralock to mount the gauge to my dash. It’s like Velcro but WAY better.

Yours looks amazing, which one is that? Mine was showing around 10psi at max boost as well; I assumed that should have been higher but maybe that was an incorrect assumption.

Even if there was no leak, I'll probably return this and get something nicer. The rattling sound really bothered me, and it sounds like yours is dead silent.

Thanks, it’s been working great and the boost will go above 10psi at times. Im in the checking everything is working good phase after some major upgrades and work. So far so good I think. The gauge is a glow shift from Amazon. Also, I used the 3M dual lock to hold it down and it doesn’t move. Would highly recommend a roll of that.

Ya, luckily the rattle is gone because I was over it. Haha

Getting my tune here in SoCal in a couple weeks so I’ll know exactly how much boost by them.
