Question What are the best replacement wiper blades for our vehicles?

I am looking to replace my wipers. What do you suggest I use?

I've had good experiences with the Valeo Ultimates.

piaa super silicone. i had rain x latitudes on my TL...one of them snapped off the bracket and scartchedmy windshield during a rain storm.

i put piaa super silicones on my TL. love them. replaced the OEM blades with the piaa inserts on the MDX...love them. just recently put them on the accord in the household. working well.

I've run both and I like the Valeo better.

But, whatever you chose to run will probably only be effective for 6 months.

I have to admit that I favor the OEM blades. I've had icons in my other vehicles and they have worked well too.

I agree. I've had the Bosch Icons and the OEM one both installed at the same time (one on each side) and saw no dramatic difference. Just get the insert for the OEM one replaced, they are like $5 at the dealer and they will install them for free too.

Also, Rain-X on the windows works great as well.

I have the OEM blades in my 2009 RDX after three years, and they are still fine. But ... there are probably two reasons why.

1) they are seldom used, as it does not rain in the summer (for 3 months), and does not snow that often (during commute) in the winter. What damages blades in the winter (for me) is when they freeze to the windshield.

2) I 'exercise' them once per week when I gas up the car, using plenty of washer flud and letting them sweep several times. Also, once per year, I remove the blades and clean them using 20/10 brand washer concentrate (just wipe them clean with a paper towel).

I have found that any blade will last a lot longer, based on several different brands used in my other car, if the blades are used once per week for about 10 seconds with plenty of washer fluid. Summer heat and ozone will kill blades unless they are kept clean and lubricated (with washer concentrate). Summers here run around 100 degrees most days. And the RDX is parked in the sun all day at work.

I did have a silicone type blade that only lasted a short time, but I cannot remember the brand (sorry).

+1 for OEM blade refills. They're cheap.

I recommend sticking with the OEM wiper because they're aerodynamic and the driver's side is offset.
