I've searched "3rd", "tailgate" and "brake" to no avail. I even searched the www. A girl I work with has an RDX and her third/tailgate bulb is out. To replace it the bulb, do you remove the cover from the outside or the inside? THe parts breakdown is only so helpful. Thanks!

 

You remove the cover from the outside. There is a little cover on each side with a tiny slot to pry open. Once open, you will see the screws...

*edit* after some more searching, I'm going to direct her to get a stanley 921LL from the local parts tore.

 

Hey, I'm sorry to bump this thread, but I am trying to change the tail lights too.. but I can't figure out how.. I have read hhrdx08's post about it, but I still don't get it.. Is there like a video tutorial.. or pictures? Thanks in advance..

I tried to pry open the black cover around the tail light, but it's stuck.. and I think I might've broke it.. Not sure though lol.

 

Hey BaNdOra, we were talking about the third brake light on the top of the tailgate. I believe you are talking about the lower brake lights left and right, right?
After removing the two screws from the housing, you just need to pull a few times (each time a little bit harder) on the housing straightly toward yourself. It felt stuck because there is a small piece of plastic holding the housing in position. It will come out if you use enough force. Have fun.

 

I unscrewed the two screws, but can't pull the unit out. Any suggestions?
