Brake booster clevis
Brake booster clevis
Hi everyone. Need some help.
Pc is down and the search on the forum is not working with my S3 android.
The manual talks about greasing the brake booster clevis.
I find no other info on this, I guess the word clevis is trowing me off.
It should be on the booster but cant find that in the manual anywere.
Can someone shed some light on this please.
Thanks to all in advance.

Which 'manual' please: FSM (factory service manual), OM (owner's manual), or some other third party manual? Name of manual, and year of manual. Each year of RDX has a different specific FSM, released for that particular year, although the later manuals in general will cover earlier models, while of course, earlier manuals do not cover the later models. The manuals are different. Clear? Without more info, it will be difficult to answer your question (at least it will be for me). Perhaps someone else can answer your question.
A clevis is a u-shaped, pinned connection, also called a yoke.
I have the identical manual. Thr brake booster clevis is the u-shaped connector (yoke) that is pinned to the lever arm of the brake pedal, inside the cabin and beneath the dashboard.
The clevis is referred to as a "yoke" in the brake section. See page 19-23, item 8 for a description and picture of the brake booster yoke connection to the pedal. Note that the yoke pin is referred to as a "joint pin" (item B) and calls for grease using the grease-gun symbol. This is the brake booster clevis connection referred to on page 3-2.

Care should be taken in lubricating that pivot point, as any excess grease will drip onto the driver's leg, esp. after being heated in the hot air from the heater. Personally, I have only lubricated the pedal pivots, after several years, and then very sparingly. But this does remind me that perhaps I should look at the accelerator pivot points, come spring.
