2011 RDX 2WD BASE vs 2009 RDX SH-AWD-PLEASE HELP!!!

I need help deciding between the 2 cars!
First is a 2011 RDX 2WD Base Model-$33,000@1.9%
Second is a 2009 RDX SH-AWD Model-$28000@4.99%

If you members had two choose between these 2 cars which would it be and why?
Also I live in HAWAII so I dont think I would need the SH-AWD..but I would like your guys input on this topic!

Thanks!!

2011 2WD!
At 1.9% that is only one extra payment worth of interest. And you'll have it paid off in 3years vs 5 for the 2009. You'll also have a new car that's never had a kid barf in the back seat. Trust me, it happens to the best of us.

What about a 2011 RDX SH-AWD base for 1.9%
$34,895 MSRP - I am sure you can go check around at a few dealership to see what they can offer you.

Remember it is your hard earning money that you have to be dishing out for the next 3 to 5 years.

Yea Im leaning towards the new car..but since this is an ISLAND!! there is only 1 dealership, and due to limited inventory and the dealer not knowing when they will get more, they are pretty much charging everybody the MSRP...If there were more dealerships I am sure I could haggle and get a better deal, but I have been going back and forth with this dealership for 2 weeks...the best they can do is 33000+Protection Package..I am not extremely happy with the price..but in the end I guess I am getting a deal with the 1.9% right?

test drive both FWD and SH-AWD and than decide which model works best for you. Do make sure to step on the gas when you are going on a corner with SH-AWD model. That is when the system & fun kicks in.

You might not have snow or a lot of rain there. But I am sure you have some twisty road that the RDX sh-awd would bring a big smile to your face.

One Acura dealer? I guess that's one thing I don't like about Hawaii now. I say go with FWD but spend the money on Tech. well then again, you're on an island...do you really need to know if there's an ABC store around you?

Kevin, we bought an '11 FWD base w/ roof rack in March for $30k. Add $3k for transportation and there you have it.

Beautiful remote locale, steep trans charges.

You'd think being halfway to Japan the islands would be cheaper than the mainland for Hondas.

Good luck. And if you are on Oahu, check out Petit Garlic.

I never drove the AWD RDX, but our FWD has slightly more torque steer than our '00 Prelude.

I'm sure you'll love it.

JC quote - "You might not have snow or a lot of rain there."

Snow, yes - but not alot, not that many mountains over 10k'.

Rain, yes, alot.

The wettest place on earth is on Kauai, northern most of the bigger islands @ 500" +/yr. (some very dry places too)

Yea I love on the Island of Oahu...luckily not as much rain as Kauai!!
Also it does suck that there is only one acura..I see all you guys on the Continental U.S getting such great deals, and I'm in Hawaii getting stuck with the worst deals on the planet! The reason why we pay more for destination, is because these cars go to the U.S first and then to Hawaii...RETARDED!!! But as a consumer there is not much I can do..I drove the AWD and the 2wd and honestly..i did notice a little bit of torgue steer in the 2wd but not something that is going to make me hate the car...I only noticed the difference when I floored both cars, but then again thats not how I will be driving most of the time..in the cornering i did notice the 4wd takes turns much better, but the 2wd still handles the turns as well..
Also with the tech package..u r right..I do not need the navigation because Oahu is so small..and we we wouldnt even get XM or the weather out here anyways..the only thing I would be paying for is the Upgraded Stereo..and for $3000 more..its not worth it to me..the stock stereo sounded fine and Im pretty happy that the base comes with the reverse camera and bluetooth!

Overall I feel as if I am leaning towards the 2wd 2011..hopefully I am making the right choice...if anyone has any objections, please let me know..I would appreciate any information or experiences that would help me make my decision...

There has only been a slight improvement in the tech package since 09 (XM weather, streaming Bluetooth audio, back up camera standard, etc...). I decided on a 08 because I wanted a specific color not offered in the +09 models (Moroccan pearl red) and I wasn't too keen on the new styling of the +10 models. I would be driving our RDX for +100,000 miles and wanted something I felt good about compared to the best bang for the buck.

I'll say to pick the RDX that feels the best and you can live with years later. The one thing about the entire RDX line-up is the 07 models are just as solid as the 12. You will not be taking a downgrade with the 09 model if you decide to go that route.
