http://www.xmradio.com/pdf/existing/XM_NavTraffic.pdf

In addition to the real-time traffic data, the XM NavTraffic service also includes basic weather information as part of the activation at no extra cost. The basic weather information includes: County Warnings, Current Conditions, and City Forecast. This basic weather information is nation wide and not limited to only the markets covered by the NavTraffic service. The source of the weather data is the same source as the XM WX Satellite Weather service, through our partner WxWorx.

$99/mo? Why not just get a 3G card from your mobile phone company and put your laptop in the big center console? Then you have the whole internet to search for satellite imagery (noaa.org, weather.com, local TV stations...).

I think that may be for commercial use, but I'm still with you. XM charge too much for just traffic service. I think, it's $4 extra a month with the radio service and $10 a moth without. I don't care for the radio serive but the $10 a moth for traffic information exceeds its utility for me.

Note that not all devices that are capable of XM NavTraffic can support the basic weather data. Currently, only the Garmin 2730 and 7200/7500 StreetPilot products enable the basic weather information.

RDX cant do it yet. From what I read on that .pdf seems like it is included with navtraffic.

Exactly, my point in posting information about WX and WxWorx basic traffic offering is that it is bundled offering with the NavTraffic offering, and thus may explain why we get weather "incidents" on our equipment.

Don't know if anyone else has noticed, but the discussion about weather on the RDX navigation system has come up in the discussion about Tech vs. base RDX. Here's a link to the information that I think you'll find most relevant regarding the display of weather on the RDX.

Just in case you're interested.

Didn't mean for a ruckus. Just wanted to know if anyone had it, or tried it ,or if it showed doppler radar on the screen.

right. The RDX includes weather in its incident reporting along the route. However, the weather (per experience) needn't actually affect the traffic flow to be reported. Presumably, the weather incident is used also to advise of weather conditions that may be dangerous or could/should be avoided.
