Voice command problems

Does anybody have a problem with voice recognition for the blue tooth or the navigation?

The other day I was trying to tell the navigation (Susan) an address and she kept changing the radio stations and the AC settings. I finally used the dial. I wish the RDX came with touch screen like the older TL did.

Before anybody makes a joke or puts their in. LOL!! I speak clear and I am fairly educated in English. I was wondering if I was supposed to read it a script so it recognizes my voice. I have a computer program I can speak to. When I installed the program I had to read several lines of script before it would work properly.

Are you sure you're giving it the right command? There's a list of commands near the end of the Navigation manual.

When I bought my car the salesman tried to impress me with the fact that the computer could easily recognize his thick russian accent. Sometimes I wonder if I should start start speaking like him because the voice command has issues.

I haven't had too many problems with the nav, heater, radio commands besides not being to remember the hundreds of commands.

The biggest problem is with the hands free link. I think there is a bug in their software because I get a response of something like "star-zero-zero-nine" often when it can't match what I am saying to a record in the phonebook. I then have to totally quit HFL and start over. It's gotten quite annoying.

My problem is that I still haven't memorized the comands so I find if I don't say the exact comand, the VR doesn't always know what I'm asking it to do. When I do say the proper comand, the error rate is much less.

I think HFL is different though. It doesn't seem to be as accurate as the VR for the nav. Anyone else notice this?

Yes. HFL is a different system and I've found that the VR isn't as good as the nav VR.
