I keep forgetting to try this myself (and frankly I'm not interested in going out in the cold to play with my car), but has anyone:

1. Checked to see if the CD player can read DVD+/-Rs with MP3s or WMAs? I know it can't read DVD video, but I was wondering about MP3 audio. I just got my nav disk updated from 4.41 to 4.55 (thanks to my dealer ) and it supposedly enabled this feature for the MDX. Was wondering if the system was the same for the RDX.

2. Checked to see if the PC card slot under the nav DVD player can be used as MP3 storage like on the Honda Civic and CRV? The manual says it's only for service use...

1. yes I tried and it doesn't work, 4.55 has been out for a long time. it came with mine in Sept.

Thanks, that saves me some trouble. I got mine in August, and it came with the 2006 version of the DVD (2005 data). My dealer was good enough to upgrade it for me for free since technically I bought a 2007 - and it should have come with the 2007 update.

You can't play homemade DVDs full of MP3 or WMA files, but you can make your own DVD-As. I've done it using DVD Audiofile on the Mac. There is an app for Win as well. Not sure of the benefit since the DVD contains high quality wav files. So you are likely to fit more music on a CD.
