Rear Seat Headrest DVD System

Has anyone done a headrest DVD system yet? Crutchfield said that they don't have any info on RDX yet. Also, I found the following link for a custom headrest replacement, but don't know anything about the outfit.

Just do it yourself or take it to a good stereo shop. Screens are cheap now ($100 and up) and you can get a mini dvd player for as low as $30 at target that works on a 12v adapter. Install shouldn't cost more than $200. The biggest costs of these setups is the actual headrest if you don't use the one you already have.
I am trying to figure out a way to do this also, but I want to find out how to tap it into the main nav screen also.

Thats actually pretty reasonable for leather headrest, especially when they charge $700+ for 2 running boards installed.

After paying that much for running boards, the actual retail cost of those at $429 probably seems reasonable too! Especially since it is an easy bolt-on product. Acura kills me at their crazy labor charges. They tried to charge me almost $100 for labor to install the rear cargo lining. They even marked up the front console cooler bag to over $50 "installed".

I'm still working on this... Got a replacement visor that I have removed the mirror, and proceeded to shape the insides to fit my monitor. Now I have to figure out how to attach the monitor and also the best way to run the cables. I haven't worked on it in a couple weeks, no time....

But I have the carputer and power supply all ready for it if I ever get the monitor finished. I even have wifi internet access in the RDX already...

The monitor will definitely stick out but not too much. I'm sure there are thinner monitors than the one I have.

The "converter" was never the problem with using the nav screen. The problem is the nav screen itself. It is too low resolution for a carputer application.

icic so there is no other converter that can help out the resolution? like make the visual lower resolution so that it looks like something on the screen?

u said its too low resolution for a carputer application... what about just a dvd player?

You CAN watch video on the screen, but the picture quality is noticeably lower than normal, but you can definitely watch movies on it if you want to.

I haven't seen it on the TSX in person so I couldn't tell you for sure, but I think most nav screens are the same low resolution, so probably the same.

It was plug and play pretty easy. It was a long time ago that I installed that, you might want to ask accordv6 since he installed just recently.

No I didn't get the carputer there. I have a macintosh install that I am doing. It is much more elegant and user friendly for multimedia applications.

If you guys were local, I'd offer to help with the carputer. I did one in my G35, now I'm debating whether it's worth doing it on my RDX since I have the tech package anyways. I already have two prebuilt, just what to do with it now.
