Rear Camera while driving?

Anyone know if there is a way to modify the rear camera to have it active/display while driving? I have a hitch and have a bike rack and a storage shelf and am considering a mini trailer. It would be nice to be able to monitor whatever is hooked up back there to make sure things are staying secured. Also might be helpful when changing lanes to help eliminate blind spots. Any way this is possible?

Assuming this could be done easily, I think your biggest roadblock will be how to turn on/off the monitor so that you retain the other uses of the LCD. You would need an external switch of some kind...

would be cool, not sure but i'm guessing the switch is plugged into the tranny being as it goes on after you put it into reverse.

I figured out how to do this today. I drove in reverse on the freeway today, what a trip, with the camera!

I didnt get my RDX yet, but I intend to do this.

I have sucessfully did this on the lexus is250 by running a relay switch to give power to the backup camera connection behind navi unit. the only problem in the lexus was when u were drivin with the rear camera on, the navi unit thought you were goin backward. And messing up the location on the gps, then 10 sec correcting itself.

I hope it is not the same concept, but once the dealership has my color, it will be shipped to me. I cant wait to start modding it. More info as I progress.

BTW I have the Pioneer AVIC-N2 currently and it has the feature to have split screen, half rear view, and half map, I love it, looks sweet when drivin (even has night vision), im goin to miss it. Hope this modification is possiable.

it is possible. Someone in in the 3rd gen TL section did this by simply grounding a wire to a switch. If you search for it, it should come up
