The rear-facing camera on my 2011 RDX with Tech package worked intermittently for a few months then finally failed completely. Now all I put it in reverse, I see a black screen with yellow lines on it. Dealer said it would cost almost $2k to replace it. I’ve seen people mention different model numbers for replacement cams, but none of the links work anymore and I can’t find any cameras that would seem to work. I’m also not sure how to get to the camera, I removed the inside of the rear door and cannot see how to get to the camera. It seems like I’d need to go in through outside of the door.

Has anyone actually replaced the camera on their 2011 RDX? Any advice?

 

Was about to post about this exact issue about my 08 RDX. I’m currently in the “intermittent” stage.

I find if I hit the trunk door right above the camera, the signal comes back.

seems like a loose connection, but it could be the camera itself failing?

I saw some chat about wires breaking inside the wiring harness at the hinge point between the body and the trunk door, I checked my wires and all seems fine there.
