Please Contact Navteq!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Last night my friend fainted in my car and I had to get her to the hospital. Anyway, i selected the nearest hospital from the navi list choices. Anway, when i reached the destination, there was no hospital, just forest. I had to resort to calling one of my best friend and have him give me directions to a hospital near by from where I was. I reached the hospital and when I got there, I was very muych relived to hear that she was going to be okay. But a shocker i got was that if i brought her 5 minuted later, she would have died in my TL on the way there. I urge you to call Navteq for the sake of you kids, you husband, your wife, your friends, anyone that you love or care about because one day, you might have to rely on the nav to get you to the hospital and behold, it may not be there.

For those who are asking why didn't you call 911, I did, and what they said was that first, they didn't have as accurate location on me after i gave them an intersection, the location of a few shops next to me and the phone number of one of the shops. As well, they said that it would take atleast 10 minutes to get there. My friend was unconsious at this point and barely breathing. That is when i called my friend, and drove almost 95MPH in local residence where the limit was 25.

Also I was in the rental 2006 tl that i have that had a 3.60 Navi disk, which by apline, is the latest. So Please contact them so we can have more of an effect on them.

For those wondering about my friend, she is okay now resting at home. She was discharged at 3 AM today from florida hospital near Ustis.

I know going 95 in a 25 was dangerous, but she had a heart attack for cirying out loud. Just please send them a message to halp save a life one day.

Wow that sucks that you had a problem like that. Glad to hear your friend is OK.

Not sure what I would say to Navteq if I contacted them. Do you have any suggestions? I have used the navigation to go to a few of my local hospitals and it worked fine in my cases.

The other thing that MAY have worked is to have the nav display your current location and give the actual gps location to the 911 operator. I suspect that they would have had better luck finding you - provided they could get there quickly enough. Glad to hear everything worked out at least ok...

It wouldn't be a bad thing to add I.C.E or some kind of local help to the nav. I had my nephew in the car, trying to impress a 18 yo kid. we had to go to the local hospital where his mom works to pick up keys. Darn thing couldn't locate the hospital! In a pinch, should one go though this as a life situation, I would think it less then adequate.

well i tried to giv ehtem the GPS off the navi and the lady was like, we can't find you using it. Also i owuld just say that the locations of hospitals should be updated in all navi disks reguardless of what region they are in in the USA and canada becuas eit could be a life or death situation at some point and the inacuraccy of info may lead to the wrongful death of someone. Anyway, jsut to tell you guys, her pulse was 32 when i got her there and she had a mini heart attack which almost killed her because she has other health problems.

On a good note, I pick up the RDX's older bro on monday, my 07 MDX
