Planning on installing speakers and sub.. Help!

Hi everyone, i've just about read every post on here but i still have a question about ANC and system install.
I have a Arc audio ks 900.6 6 channel amp that im going to use to power my system, which would consist of front stage and subwoofer only. My installer was planning on tapping into the wire between the headunit and stock amp. Is this the correct route?
I've told him about the ANC that people on this forum were talking about, and how everyone uses an MTX re-Q5 bass restoration to tap AFTER the oem amp. He said he was quite sure the audio curves and anc came after the stock amp, so thats why he was tapping before the amp.
Is this the correct way to do this?
What are your opinions guys? My Arc has low/high inputs so that shouldn't be a problem right? I also want to keep my stock functions. Also, where is the stock amp located? Do i have just one?

I had fully upgraded my 08 accord which had anc. i had an audio control lc7 converter which my audio store connected after the stock amp. the ANC will give you a odd droaning if you dont unplug the mics. In the Accord it was in the roof by the reading lights and in the trunk. Also the stock amp crosses over the stock sub at 80hz. I hope this helps bro

I agree I am doing the same thing with a single din head unit. Make sure he's tapped a factory harness before; hondas are color coded to confuse people. You HAVE to know which wires are positive and negative. Otherwise you'll be out of phase. I guess if the installer runs new wire then my point is moot.

If you can wait for a few days I'll have the wires marked and you should be able to do this yourself. I'm installing an 5 chan amp, speakers, and head unit.. Everyones gonna WTF???? Anyway I'll post what I find out in another thread and I'll link.

my install is going to be in 2 days. BTW ur gonna install another headunit into ur tech package 2007? I WAS THINKING OF DOING THE SAME THING!! avoid all the hassle and just use the center channel for navi + voice. Fronts, Rears, and sub connected to external amp which would be connected to aftermarket headunit...

if you by chance take out or atleast have access around the lcd, can you see how much space is behind it and what its mounted with? i would be throwing in a double din if it has enough space.

I'll do what I can, i started yest working onthis after work, and the spouse wanted to do fall yardwork so it had to be put on hold-- I still can't work on it!
I got the rear coax speakers installed, working on the front now. Photographing all of it is making it slower.

Btw, the center climate and radio fascia on a 07 base (not sure about tech Ed) is oddly shaped putting a dub will require some trimming or modding IMO. I really wanted a dub too.

Yeah it's a pain. I about to put the receiver in I need a block off plate. So far the RDX looks like it's NASCAR wannabe. I had to remove seats center console and carpet so I could run interconnects. My iPhone is 4thgen and a pos for uploading pic or I'd have a work in progress thread. Thx for checking in!!

@wlg: there's about estimate 5 or less inches (flush mounted) behind the LCD before the "roll cage" front dash member. I'd say unless you do a 2 piece that 2din won't work.. Sorry I got pix.

@all: Id say another week and I'll be done.

Ha, look at me I missed this one, sorry.. I wasnt aware of a center channel, huh?!?. duuh!

Also I have a base, and I am also confirming wirelooms for tech models (you "other" guys, cuz Im doing this for myself, to impress myself) there's about 40 or so wires, mostly pass-thru, and BTW i am under the impression things changed for the 2010 up models(as far as the "molex" connections) so be advised. I'll re-post in the new thread.

UPDATE:
Jumped a huge hurdle today, the center console display uses square signals (Like most ACK vehicles) and had that had to be figured out. And a work around was free and I'll post that info with the thread. Problem was with one peice removed the display quit working, so my fix has it working again.

I thought this was gonna be easy... You cant just slap a head unit in and think that is all there is to it. I'd say that this is intermediate to expert level install. One or two amps or HU in a friend's car is not enough expirence. I used to do this for a living back when mobile audio was a good business.
