noise in bluetooth connection
Has anyone had a problem where there is a lot of background noise transmiited over the cars blue tooth link.. To another caller, it sounds like the acura is at the beach in heavy surf?

I used to use a Nokia N95 and I never really had any complains about noises when I use bluetooth in the RDX. After changing to an iPhone 3G last September, my girlfriend and my friends started to complain that they cant hear me at all. I noticed that if I'm in the highway, there is no way they can hear me (too much road noise). When I'm in the city, I have to speak to the mic in order for them to hear me and if I just turn my head to another direction, they wont be able to hear me. I assumed that iPhone's bluetooth or order stuff are crappy, and with the amount of road noise the RDX makes, it doesnt help at all.

My TSX will give the call lots of noise if the fan is blowing on full. It's worse if the air ducts are pointing at the mic for the phone. Clicking an poping noises on a BT connection are signs of a poor connection.
Hope that helps.

Frustrated with the inability to fix bluetooth noise
I've had several visits to fix that problem -- inability to use the bluetooth because of background noise. They've replaced the "bluetooth module?" It did not work. I'm very frustrated. I have two TL's -- had an MDX -- all worked or are working fine. Now the RDX bluetooth problem makes phone use unuseable. I'm not happy. So I feel your pain!

I have the exact same problem with bluetooth noise. I have a 2007 Acura TL and am using LG Shine cell phones. The noise is present with the A/C on or off. It only subsides when the car is at a standstill. Roadnoise is the obvious culprit. I plan to take the vehicle to the dealership to determine if they have a fix.

Anyone ever get this problem resolved? We have a 2009 RDX that we bought used and when my wife calls me using the BT, there is so much noise that it sounds like the windows are open... it's so annoying that we don't like to use it, which sucks.
If it makes a difference (and I can't see why it would), she has an Iphone 3GS. When she speaks, things seem clear, but during the pauses while I'm talking it seems there is lots of background noise.

It is good that your BlueTooth even works... I cant get to any Bluetooth menu or voice commands to Setup the Bluetooth on my 07 RDX. Does anyone know if the Navi Disc affects the operation of the Bluetooth? Acura Tech Support Flowchart doesnt list my problem. Mine came with the original 06 Navi Disk.
I can let you all know that the quality of your Bluetooth Audio is dependent on which Bluetooth Codec you are using. I dont know what specific Bluetooth Codec the RDX uses however the standard A2DP Bluetooth Codec is terrible for audio playback as the signal is compressed so much that most of the Freq spec is lost in transmission resulting in SHITTY audio.
If you want CD Quality music via Bluetooth then you need to have a Smartphone or Media Playback device that uses the "apt-X" Codec and has a decent DAC. Here is a link to apt-X devices. http://www.csr.com/technology-soluti...ed-by-csr-aptx.
I just purchased a Motorola Droid RAZR HD and Saturn Bluetooth Music Receiver for use in my RDX... I will be bypassing the RDXs A2DP Bluetooth Codec and pluging the apt-x Bluetooth Receiver straight into the 3.5mm aux audio input.
Once i set this system up i will post my findings...

Once you get the Bluetooth Receiver plugged into the stereos 3.5 mini jack input all the audio is transmitted Via the Bluetooth apt-X codec from your phone to that Receiver. apt-X specs say CD quality; i will find out and post the results.

but still using mini jack.
I think I just understood why your BT doesn't work Mr. Blue... the 07 BT is only for phone calls, not for streaming music. It doesn't exist. id say get a Ipod adapter type deal.. they'll have an RCA aux. that would be better.

I originally wanted to plug directly into my EQ with an adapter and bypass the stereo however the installer had to use both line inputs from the stereo.
I cant get to the Bluetooth option/menu on my Navi system to function to set up/pair my phone. I speak the voice commands "Phone Setup" however the Navi setup is displayed. Any ideas?
I ordered the Avantree Cara Bluetooth receiver that will plug into the stereos 3.5 mm aux jack. Hopefully i will get to play with it a little this weekend... right after i finish retrofitting the 8" sub with the 10".

Hmm that is odd. maybe unplug the battery and start from there.. maybe a reset will help the pairing?
That mini jack adapter sounds like it will work nicely for you then.
I just use an aftermareket ipod adapter for our phones/music. Plugs in line around the GPS unit I believe. Everything works great. The unit can still accept another RCA audio input for Sat, game, droid, etc..

I am having the same issue. At high speeds, my friends cannot hear me. there is so much background noise and i can even hear the noise coming in. The whole idea of the noise cancellation is so you can talk on the phone while driving anywhere, right?
does anyone have any suggestions?
