iPhone 3GS...anyone?
I haven't found a phone that has been able to work with Acuralink data connection. Each time I've paired by Curve and Storm neither have connected to data connection. Not too sure what the benefit of that is anyway.
I'm using Motorola Razr2 V9. It connected with the datalink automatically after the link was first established. I haven't noticed any use of the link since activation. I'm almost due for first A1 service, so am wondering if I'll get a message from Acura reminding me to look at the reminder on the message area!
My RAZR V3c handled the data connection as well. It used the RAZR bluetooth dial up networking profile and connected fine through my dialup ISP account. It has never ONCE been used, so I've crossed it off my critical functionality list...

In a nutshell, the car RECEIVES information (reminders, etc.) via the XM radio Acuralink. If the car wants to SEND information, it needs a way to do this - since the XM Radio is only a receiver.
Supposedly, the car automatically recognizes some phones with data plans when you pair them and asks if it can use that connection to send data (diagnostics, etc. when you have a problem). In my case, I didn't have a data plan, so the car couldn't use that route. However, since my Razr V3C had the dial up networking bluetooth profile, I was able to go into the Acuralink settings on the car and manually set up a dial up number for it to use. Using my phone as a modem, it dials the number, logs in using my ISP userid and password, and then connects to the Acura server. I've never actually had it need to send any data - I just know it worked because after I manually set up the details, it did a test - which was successful.
Hope this helps....

iPhone 3GS - Help with Call Transfer to HFL
I can receive in coming calls and I can dial numbers by speaking the phone number...but I can't seem to start a call on the iPhone and then "transfer" it to HFL. I have tried all 3 audio settings on the iPhone (iPhone, Speaker, HFL).
Once out of 8 or 9 times I can get it to work by playing with the audio settings on the iPhone.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
I just got mine a few days ago, and finally paired it today. It paired fine and I was able to dial out without any problems. I haven't tried the transfer thing, but I never do that anyway, so I don't really care if it doesn't work. My big thing will be connection reliability. If it connects reliably when I start my car and I can make and take calls, I'll be happy.
If I get a chance, I'll try the transfer thing to see what happens.

My Nokia N95 worked fine with Acuralink, before I got my iphone.
Here's a video I shot with my 3GS about my ipod connection in the RDX:

I have a question for the 3GS owners. When using it with the handsfreelink in your RDX, do you find yourself saying 'Hello' twice when you pick up a call? I've done it on every call so far. I've noticed that it appears to take a second or two after you press the handsfreelink button for the audio to actually transfer to the car - so nobody can hear me talking immediately after I press the button. I didn't think anything of it until another person reported a similar finding in the Apple tech forum the other day. Has anyone here noticed it?

I have a Iphone 3g and although I haven't noticed anything unusual when I receive a call, the way the HFL works when you place a call using the Iphone and then try to transfer it to the HFL system is really frustrating. The HFL system in my 4Runner that I just traded in would pick up the call immediately upon initiating in, instead of waiting until the call actually connected.
By the way corduroygt did you say in your video that you have an '09 Tech that you installed the PXAMG module in? I have been researching it and the official word was that it wouldn't work because of the addition of the XM navtraffic but it sounds like there is a new "beta" version of the wiring harness that may allow it to work. Is that how you were able to install it? And if so where did you have to connect/install the PXAMG module?

The hardest part is removing the center console without breaking it, you do have to apply quite a bit of force and there isn't a place to grip, especially for the 2 silver looking plastic trim pieces. (BTW, does anyone make a metal replacement for those?). I have a 09 tech and all I did was plug the harnesses and I was done. My traffic and xm work just like they did before.

Acuralink connection doesn't do anything. In fact I don't even think Acura supports it anymore. As I mentioned above, I have yet to find a phone that has been able to connect to the Acuralink Connection and that's with a Curve, Storm, and iPhone 3GS.
but if you check out my other post, i found a good way to get my phone to work. so i'm happy.
