Found the perfect Cell phone mount for the RDX. pic inside.
Hey Guys, I just picked up my CPO 2012 rdx non tech last week.
before I found it I had been conducting a lot of research as the RDX will be my primary commuter.
One thing I couldn't find was a decent Cell phone mount. One that looked good, put the phone in a good spot and wouldnt be in the way of any other controls.
I ended up empty handed until I decided to try the CD slot mount from my old Abarth.
I grabbed the mount and tried to install it in the RDX but no dice, the slot is too small. SO what you need to do is pry the rubber off the back of the mount where it goes in the cd slot. then take some electrical tape and wrap it around the exposed metal where you took the rubber off. This will provide good grip and protect anything from metal to metal contact.
I haven't used optical media in over 10 years. It might as well be an 8 track to me, I will NEVER use the cd changer, but if you must you can still load it up then pop the mount back in.
The fitment is nice and very tight zero vibration, movement, etc.
I can mount and unmount the phone easily with 1 hand.
And the best part, its in the perfect spot in the whole vehicle, the phone sits in front of and a bit higher than the shifter. This way if you need to use the device your arm/hand is already being supported by the shifter, simply extend your finger, no more missed buttons when you hit a bump.
Amazon search cd clot cell phone mount. there are many for sale, mine is branded "xenomix" and its really great quality, I bought one for my wife's element and it is a different brand, but its quality is just a little less. I guess there are many vendors making an identical mount so ymmv.
Cheers!

I'm looking for something similar for my RDX and MDX. The cup holders usually have water or coffee cups in them when traveling. It would be nice to at-least have one iPhone in easy reach for music options instead of leaving in the arm rest all the time.
Checked on Amazon and they have them for iPad Mini also. Might go for this model for the +4hr road trips!

There's a non magnetic one as well.

I went with the Koomus CD-Air Tab CD Slot Mount Universal CD Slot on Amazon. It can hold my iPad Mini or iPhone 4GS (with Mophie Juice Pack Plus attached). The Koomus holder part that inserts/locks into the CD slot on my MDX and RDX is a touch too thick and you really have to force it. Really feels like I'm going to break something trying to insert it in the slot. I have the ENT option and a second (wider) DVD slot on my MDX. The Koomus holder fits perfectly in that slot with zero issues.
I will keep the Koomus for the MDX and I have to find something else for the RDX. I don't recommend the Koomus tablet/ipad mini holder. Not sure if the Koomus iPhone holder is better?

I've been using proclips for a number of my cars.

I use this mount on all my cars. i like that it's very low-key and when not in use you can barely notice it's there.
